Football is the biggest and most popular sport in Paris, in terms of participants, spectators, economy, and media coverage. Racing Club de France, Red Star, CA Paris, and Club Français were all founding members of the 1932–33 Division 1, and the most successful club in the city is Paris Saint-Germain. The Stade de France is the home ground of the France national football team, and has hosted the Coupe de France final since the stadium's inauguration in 1998. The Standard Athletic Club is a British social club in Paris, created on 1 March 1890, as the first football clubs in France. Stade Français Football is a French association football team based in Paris and playing in suburb town of Vaucresson. The team is the football section of sports club Stade Français, whose rugby union section is currently the most successful. The team currently plays at the Haras Lupine sports center in Vaucresson (Hauts-de-Seine), in the nearby western suburbs of Paris. Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine (, literally ''Saint-Ouen on Seine'') is a commune in the Seine-Saint-Denis department in the Île-de-France region of France. Gallia Club Paris
Gallia Club, also known as Gallia Club Paris to identify the club's location, was a French amateur football club based in Paris. The club was founded in 1896 and were known as ''Les coqs'' (The Roosters). Gallia Club was among the few clubs that participated in France's first-ever football league, ''Le Championnat de USFSA'', joining the league for the 1896–97 season. The club won its only USFSA league title in the 1904–05 season defeating Roubaix 1–0 at the Parc des Princes. Midfielder Georges Bayrou was particularly instrumental in the club's success. Maisons-Alfort () is a commune in the southeastern suburbs of Paris, France. It is located from the center of Paris. Maisons-Alfort is famous as the location of the National Veterinary School of Alfort. Union Sportive Suisse de Paris, also known as simply US Suisse or Suisse Paris, is a French amateur football club based in Paris. The club was founded in 1894 under the name United Sports Club and currently play in the Promotion d'Honneur of the Ligue Île-de-France, the ninth division of the French football league system.
