The Dominica national football team is the national team of Dominica and is controlled by the Dominica Football Association. They are a member of CONCACAF. Dominica has never qualified for the FIFA World Cup. History Beginnings Dominica played its first international match in 1932, against Martinique, a match that ended in a 1–0 victory. In the 1940s they participated in the 1948 Coupe des Caraibes, losing in the preliminaries against Martinique 5–0 but qualified due to Trinidad and Tobago's withdrawal. In the competition proper, Dominica again faced Martinique, losing 6–0 and being eliminated. The Dominica Premier League is the top division for association football in Dominica, it was created in 1970. Eight teams participate in this league. Starting in 2005, the winner and runners-up can qualify for the CONCACAF Champions Cup from the first round of the CFU Club Championship. The teams play an 18-matches league (home and away matches against the other 9 teams), in the end of that 18 matches the winner is declared the Dominica Champion and the 10th placed is relegated to Dominica First Division. CONCACAF Champions League
The CONCACAF Champions League, known officially as the Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League for sponsorship reasons, is an annual continental club football competition organized by CONCACAF. The tournament is contested by clubs from North America, Central America, and the Caribbean. The winner of the CONCACAF Champions League automatically qualifies for the quarter-finals of the FIFA Club World Cup. The tournament currently uses a knockout format; it had a group stage prior to the 2018 competition. Windsor Park (Dominica)
Windsor Park is a multi-purpose stadium in Roseau, Dominica. It serves as the country's national stadium and is used mostly for cricket and association football matches. Other uses have included the World Creole Music Festival, the Finals of the Calypso Competition and the Miss Dominica pageant.
