Football At The 1996 Summer Olympics – Men's Asian Qualifiers
The Asian Football Confederation's Pre-Olympic Tournament was held from 20 May 1995 to 27 March 1996. Twenty-five teams entered the qualification for the three allocated spots for the 1996 Summer Olympics Football tournament in Atlanta. The qualification saw Korea Republic, Japan and Saudi Arabia winning their final round groups and qualifying to the Olympics. Format Asian berths for the final is 3. ;First round :25 teams were grouped into 8 groups, where each group would consist of home and away round-robin tournament. The winners of each group would qualify to the second round. Worrawoot Srimaka (Thai: วรวุฒิ ศรีมะฆะ) is a Thai football coach and former player. He was a striker who scored 29 goals for the Thailand national football team. Club career His career began in 1991 with Thai Farmers Bank. He won the Thai League three times, AFC Champions League twice and the Queen's Cup once. In 1996, he moved to BEC Tero Sasana and won two Thai League titles. In 2003, his team reached the final of the AFC Champions League, losing to Al Ain. Mamun Joarder ( bn, মামুন জোয়ার্দার; born 1 April 1973), is a retired Bangladeshi footballer who played as a right winger. Mamun played for a total of 7 clubs during his 15 year long career, and he won the Dhaka League title with both Abahani Limited Dhaka and Muktijoddha Sangsad KC. Mamun was also a member of the Bangladesh national football team that won its first international trophy, the Burma Cup in 1995, under coach Otto Pfister. Imtiaz Ahmed Nakib is a former Bangladeshi professional footballer who played as a striker for the Bangladesh national football team, during the majority of the 1990s.
