Gottfried Fuchs
Gottfried Erik Fuchs (also Godfrey Fuchs; (3 May 1889 – 25 February 1972) was a German Olympic footballer. He scored a then-world record 10 goals for the Germany national football team in a 16–0 win against Russia at the 1912 Olympics. He left Germany to escape the Holocaust, as he was Jewish, and ultimately emigrated to Canada. Biography A German Jew, he was exiled and fled Nazi Germany in 1937 because of the Holocaust and emigrated first to England and then in 1940 to Canada. His older brother was composer and architect Richard Fuchs. Fuchs debuted for the German national football team at the age of 18. He played for (1904–06, 1914–20), and Karlsruher FV (1906–14)—winning the German national title in 1910, beating Holstein Kiel 1–0. In 1912, they lost the final against Holstein Kiel, 1–0. Robert Merz
Robert Merz (25 November 1887 – 30 August 1914) was an Austrian amateur football (soccer) player. He died during World War I, aged 26. Club career Born in Zizkow, Merz began playing youth football with a predecessor to Wiener Sport-Club (Wiener SV). He joined Wiener SV's senior side at age 16, before becoming a professional with DFC Prag when he moved back to his hometown in 1907. International career He was a member of the Austrian Olympic squad at the 1912 Summer Olympics and played two matches in the main tournament as well as two matches in the consolation tournament. He scored two goals against Germany in the first round of the main tournament. For the Austria national football team he played 13 games and scored 5 goals. Kristian Krefting
Kristian August Krefting (9 February 1891 – 13 April 1964) was a Norwegian footballer, military officer, chemical engineer and company owner. He was Norwegian champion with the club Lyn in 1910 and 1911, and was on the Norway national football team at the 1912 Summer Olympics. Emigrating to the United Kingdom in the 1920s, to start a manufacturing business in the ink industry; Krefting returned to military service during the Second World War. Having first been attached to British forces as a liaison officer in the Norwegian campaign in 1940, he spent the rest of the war in the administration of the exiled Norwegian forces in the United Kingdom.
