Football West Premier League
The National Premier Leagues Western Australia is a regional Australian semi-professional soccer league comprising teams from Western Australia. The league name is often abbreviated to NPL Western Australia or NPL WA. As a subdivision of the National Premier Leagues, the league is the highest level of the Western Australian league system (Level 2 of the overall Australian league system). The competition is administered by Football West, the governing body of the sport in the state. In 2014, the league – formerly known as the Football West State League Premier Division – was rebranded into what exists today. Mandurah City
Mandurah City Football Club is an Australian professional football club based in Mandurah, Western Australia. Their home ground is Peelwood Reserve in Halls Head. The club has 300 registered players which also includes Juniors, Social, Women, Semi-pro and Masters teams. They currently (2019) compete in the Football West State League Division 1. History Founded in 1970, Mandurah City played their inaugural competitive season in the South West Soccer League, and won the league in 1972. The club then joined the Western Australian Amateur and Social Soccer Association (WASSA), where it remained until 2002. The Football West State League Division 1 is a regional Australian semi-professional association football league comprising teams from Western Australia. The league sits at Level 2 on the Western Australian league system (Level 3 of the overall Australian league system). The competition is administered by Football West, the governing body of the sport in the state. The league has been called the All Flags State League Division 1 due to sponsorship arrangements since 2011. Format The league operates with a promotion and relegation system. Promotion for the Champion of the Division to the National Premier Leagues Western Australia (NPL WA) was introduced for the 2015 season, and is subject to eligibility criteria. Mandurah City were the 2015 champions but did not meet all of the Football West eligibility criteria to be promoted to the 2016 National Premier Leagues WA. Fremantle Spirit SC
Fremantle Spirit Soccer Club was an Australian soccer club based in Fremantle, Western Australia. The Spirit played in the State League Division 1 (2012) dropping to Division 2 for 2013 of the Western Australia State League. History The club was established in 1978 as Benfica United with support from the Fremantle Portuguese Australian community. It was seen as a successor to the Associacao Portuguesa de Fremantle team that had played for a number of years from 1967. The club changed its name to Fremantle City in 1994 and to Fremantle Spirit in 2006. In the 2013 Season the name of the club changed to Maddington White City after a merger with Maddington Eagles. As of the end of the 2013 Season Fremantle Spirit SC and Maddington White City are no longer in existence. Perth RedStar Football Club is an Australian soccer club from Joondalup, Western Australia currently playing in the National Premier Leagues Western Australia and National Premier Leagues WA Women. Their home ground is the RedStar Arena at the Joondalup campus of Edith Cowan University. History The club was formed in 1992 as Joondalup City Soccer Club and played at the Gumblossom Park in Quinns Rocks. They moved to the Arena Joondalup in 1995 and in their first season in the Semi-pro league finished third in the Professional Soccer Federation of WA third division a great start to top-flight football in the state. Western Knights Soccer Club is an Australian soccer club currently playing in the Football West State League Division 1 in Perth, Western Australia. Its home ground is Nash Field, in the Town of Mosman Park. Since 2018, the club expanded its junior program to include Len Packham Reserve in the City of Cockburn as well as Nash Field. History Western Knights was established by Croatian immigrants in the state of Western Australia under the name of Metropolitan in 1968, joining the semi-professional Second Division (third tier) the following year as Croatia. In 1970, under their new name of North Perth Croatia, they were promoted from the Second Division to the First Division. Cockburn City SC
Cockburn City Soccer Club is an Australian soccer club currently playing in the National Premier Leagues Western Australia. They play their home games at Dalmatinac Park and train at Beale Park. History Cockburn City Soccer Club's origin goes back to 1929 when they were known as Spearwood Rovers, and after the 1964 season they amalgamated with Britannia (who had renamed a year earlier from Fremantle City) to become Cockburn United. A few months earlier, some of the Spearwood Rovers club had joined forces with Balkans Dalmatinac, to create Fremantle Dalmatinac (who were renamed Spearwood Dalmatinac in 1974). The two clubs enjoyed success in the period after, with facilities close to each other at Dalmatinac Park and Beale Park. Swan United Football Club is an Australian Football Club based in the Swan Valley region, in Perth. The club will compete in 2022 in the Football West State League Division 2. History The Swan IC United Soccer Club was formed in 1984 by members of the Italian community in the Swan Valley. The club was founded after the Swan Italian Club, headed by John Steffanelli, decided to start a semi-professional team in the Swan Valley. In 1985 the club played its first season in amateur ranks in 1985. After finishing third in their inaugural season they were accepted in the state fourth division for the 1986 season.
