Football West State League
The National Premier Leagues Western Australia is a regional Australian semi-professional soccer league comprising teams from Western Australia. The league name is often abbreviated to NPL Western Australia or NPL WA. As a subdivision of the National Premier Leagues, the league is the highest level of the Western Australian league system (Level 2 of the overall Australian league system). The competition is administered by Football West, the governing body of the sport in the state. In 2014, the league – formerly known as the Football West State League Premier Division – was rebranded into what exists today. The Australian soccer league system is the league structure for soccer clubs in Australia. The league system in Australia since 1977 has involved one top divisional league controlled by Football Australia and many leagues run within each state below. The National Soccer League stood from 1977 to 2004 as the top nationwide tier above the current state-based league systems, in 2005, the A-League was established as its successor. Armadale currently competes in the National Premier Leagues Western Australia, with matches played at Alfred Skeet Oval. Stirling Macedonia Football Club (formerly West Perth Macedonia, Stirling Lions) is an Australian football club based in Perth, Western Australia, who are competing in 2023 in the National Premier Leagues Western Australia. History Early history Stirling Macedonia has evolved with the history of the Macedonian Australian community of Western Australia. The club has been through a number of name changes and directions in its history. Initially formed as East Perth Macedonia in 1958, the club dissolved in 1967, but in 1969 the Macedonian community put together the necessary funds to revive the club. Dianella White Eagles Soccer Club is an Australian semi-professional soccer club based in Perth. It was established by the local Serbian Australian community in 1978 as Dianella Serbia. In 2023, the club will compete in the Football West State League Division 1. History The team was formed under the name of Dianella Serbia in 1978. The name was changed to the current one in the 1990s, per the FFA requirements at the time. The club has had some success, winning the Division 1 title in 1993. That sent them into Western Australia's highest division for a brief stint. The club has since spent its time in Division 1, coming close to winning the league in 2013 and 2017.
