Football Inquest
''Football Inquest'' is the name of two Australian television series, which both aired in Melbourne. The first aired 1957 on GTV-9, while the second aired 1960-1974(?) on HSV-7. There was also a South Australian version. 1957 The 1957 version was an early Australian television series which ran from 20 April 1957 to 21 September 1957 on Melbourne television station GTV-9. It was a half-hour weekly series broadcast on Saturdays at 7:30PM. Hosted by Ian Johnson, Phil Gibbs and Jack Mueller, the series featured also featured V.F.L. players. Sam Loxton was later a regular. The program was simulcast over GTV-9 and 3KZ. Little else is known about the television program, but the radio version certainly predated the simulcast. 1960-1974 Hosted by Michael Williamson, the second version was a panel discussion series which debuted 9 April 1960. Lindsay Head
Lindsay Hudson Head MBE (born 16 September 1935 in North Adelaide, South Australia) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with West Torrens in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL). He was awarded three Magarey Medals during his career. SANFL Lindsay Head's first experience of state representation came in 1947, when he played in a state schoolboys carnival at the age of eleven. In 1953, he lined up in the senior South Australian state team to play Victoria. By the time he was nineteen, he had won the first of his three Magarey Medals in only his fourth league season, with the others being in 1958 and 1963. Head played at SANFL level for nineteen seasons with West Torrens. His list of achievements for his club was notable: he played the most games for the club (327), won the club best and fairest award eight times, was club leading goalkicker twice, was captain-coach from 1959–1960 and captain in 1961, coached the club in 1981, and was also c ... Bo Morton
Parker Thomas "Bo" Morton (2 November 1911 – 3 September 1995) was an Australian rules footballer, coach and administrator for the Sturt Football Club in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL). In 1981 the Sturt Football Club honoured Morton by naming the award for the club's best and fairest player the P. T. Morton Medal. On 26 January 1983, Morton was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for services to sport in the fields of Australian rules football and golf. Player Morton made his league debut on 26 April 1930 and impressed immediately with his positional play as a half-forward. Morton finished his debut season as Sturt's leading goalkicker and eighth overall in the league with 37 goals. He followed up in 1931 to again lead Sturt's goalkicking with 77 goals (third in the league). The South Australian National Football League, or SANFL ( or ''S-A-N-F-L''), is an Australian rules football league based in the Australian state of South Australia. It is also the state's governing body for the sport. Originally formed as the South Australian Football Association on 30 April 1877, the SANFL is the oldest surviving football league of any code in Australia and is the 7th oldest club football league in the world. Consisting of a single division competition, since the admission of the Adelaide Crows AFL Reserves in 2014 the season, has been a 10-team, 18-round home-and-away (regular) season from April to September.
