Benjamin Foord (21 January 1913 – 29 September 1942) was a South African professional mixed class boxer of the 1930s and 1940s, who won the South African heavyweight title, British Boxing Board of Control (BBBoFC) British heavyweight title (though he was South African), and British Empire heavyweight title, his professional fighting weight varied from , i.e. Light heavyweight to , i.e. Heavyweight. Stu Foord (born September 23, 1985) is a former Canadian football running back. He was originally signed by the Saskatchewan Roughriders as an undrafted free agent in 2008. Before joining the Roughriders, Foord played five years for the Regina Thunder of the Prairie Football Conference. Football career Amateur Foord played high school football for Thom Collegiate in Regina. After finishing his high school career, he played junior football for the Regina Thunder of the Prairie Football Conference. Richard John Foord (; born 13 February 1978) is a British politician and former British Army officer who has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Tiverton and Honiton in Devon since 2022. Heather Foord (born 1965) is an Australian television journalist. Foord was a news presenter for the Nine Network in Brisbane for over 20 years, presenting the weekday edition of ''Nine News Queensland'' with Bruce Paige between 1995–2001, and again between 2004–2008. She also presented the weekend news with Mike London between 2001–2004, and then solo between 2009–2011 before retiring from television news in June 2011. Herbert ("Bert") Vernon Foord (22 December 1930, in Appleby, Westmorland – 31 July 2001, in Stoke Mandeville, Buckinghamshire) was an English meteorologist and BBC weather forecaster during the 1960s and early 1970s. The son of a Royal Navy serviceman, Foord attended grammar school and joined the UK Meteorological Office as a trainee forecaster in 1947. His first posting was to the Eskdalemuir Observatory in the Scottish borders, where he worked between 1950 and 1953, followed by three years' service on the Atlantic weather ships. He became the principal BBC weather forecaster in 1963, and his low-key presentation style made him a national institution.
