Fonseca Atlético Clube
Fonseca Atlético Clube, is a sports club from the city of Niterói in the state of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. The club was founded on 12 October 1917 by local merchants. The club always has been at home in the street Alameda São Boaventura in the quarter Fonseca and moved to its current location there in 1926. The club is best known for its association football team, which between 1937 and 1962 won a record eleven times the championship of Niterói and in the years 1959, 1960 and 1962 three times the Campeonato Fluminense, i.e., the championship of the state of Rio the Janeiro, which then did not include the city of the same name, which as the then national capital formed as Distrito Federal a separate entity. The three state titles qualified Fonseca to participate in the Taça Brasil, a competition which served as national championship. Capoeira () is an Afro-Brazilian martial art that combines elements of dance, acrobatics, music and spirituality. Jujutsu ( ; ja, link=no, 柔術 , ), also known as jiu-jitsu and ju-jitsu, is a family of Japanese martial arts and a system of close combat (unarmed or with a minor weapon) that can be used in a defensive or offensive manner to kill or subdue one or more weaponless or armed and armored opponents. Orlando Peçanha de Carvalho (20 September 1935 – 10 February 2010), sometimes known simply as ''Orlando'', was a Brazilian footballer who played defender. During his club career he played for Vasco da Gama (1955–1960), Boca Juniors (1960–1964) and Santos (1965–1967). The Taça Brasil ( en, Brazil Cup) was the Brazilian national football championship contested from 1959 to 1968. Bahia, Cruzeiro and Botafogo were the only champions to have played all phases of the tournament, because until the 1968 edition teams from Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo were already qualified to the semi-finals.
