Fly Life
"Fly Life" (often stylized as "Flylife") is a song by English electronic dance music duo Basement Jaxx from their fourth extended play, ''EP3'', released in 1996. The track was largely based on the 1996 single "Live Your Life with Me", which they produced for vocalist Corrina Joseph, their collaborator since 1995 in order to make "proper songs". It was re-released as a single by Multiply Records on 19 May 1997 with a new mix, featuring added vocals from British reggae artist Glamma Kid. It later went on to become Basement Jaxx's first charting single in the United Kingdom by reaching the top 20 of the UK Singles Chart. Granted moderate success commercially, critically, the song also received very positive reviews from music critics, the ones who highlighted the fusion of the many genres of the track and its handful production. Housefly
The housefly (''Musca domestica'') is a fly of the suborder Cyclorrhapha. It is believed to have evolved in the Cenozoic Era, possibly in the Middle East, and has spread all over the world as a commensal of humans. It is the most common fly species found in houses. Adults are gray to black, with four dark, longitudinal lines on the thorax, slightly hairy bodies, and a single pair of membranous wings. They have red eyes, set farther apart in the slightly larger female. The female housefly usually mates only once and stores the sperm for later use. She lays batches of about 100 eggs on decaying organic matter such as food waste, carrion, or feces. These soon hatch into legless white larvae, known as maggots. Reggae () is a music genre that originated in Jamaica in the late 1960s. The term also denotes the modern popular music of Jamaica and its diaspora. A 1968 single by Toots and the Maytals, " Do the Reggay" was the first popular song to use the word "reggae", effectively naming the genre and introducing it to a global audience. Roger Sanchez (born June 1, 1967) is a Dominican-American house music DJ, remixer and producer. He won a Grammy Award for his remix of " Hella Good" by No Doubt in 2003, and is best known for his song " Another Chance", which was an international hit in 2001. Norman Quentin Cook (born Quentin Leo Cook, 31 July 1963), also known by his stage name Fatboy Slim, is an English musician, DJ, and record producer who helped to popularise the big beat genre in the 1990s. ''The Singles'' is the first greatest hits album by English electronic music duo Basement Jaxx, released on 21 March 2005 via XL. The album contains two new songs, " Oh My Gosh" and " U Don't Know Me", which were both released as singles. "Do Your Thing" was previously included on the 2001 ''Rooty'' album, but with the release of this compilation album, the single was re-released in the UK after the two aforementioned singles. Later editions of ''The Singles'' included the "JaxxHouz" radio edit of "U Don't Know Me" in place of the original album version.
