''Flowers in the Dirt'' is the eighth studio solo album by Paul McCartney. The album was released on 5 June 1989 on Parlophone, as he was embarking on his first world tour since the Wings Over the World tour in 1975–76. It earned McCartney some of his best reviews for an album of original songs since ''Tug of War'' (1982). The album made number one in the United Kingdom and Norway and produced several hit singles (the first being " My Brave Face"). The album artwork was a collaboration between artist Brian Clarke, who painted the canvas and arranged the flowers, and Linda McCartney, who produced the cover photography. The album was reissued in an expanded form under the ''Paul McCartney Archive Collection'' project in March 2017, with the original demos recorded by McCartney and Elvis Costello included as part of the release. Sir James Paul McCartney (born 18 June 1942) is an English singer, songwriter and musician who gained worldwide fame with the Beatles, for whom he played bass guitar and shared primary songwriting and lead vocal duties with John Lennon. "This One" is a single from Paul McCartney's 1989 album, ''Flowers in the Dirt''. The song reached number 18 on the UK singles chart. It also reached number 8 on the Ö3 Austria Top 40 in Austria, number 31 in the Dutch Top 40 in the Netherlands, number 40 on the Media Control Charts in Germany and number 14 in Japan. The single includes two songs recorded during the sessions for ''CHOBA B CCCP'' album: "I Wanna Cry" and "I'm In Love Again". The latter appeared in a slightly edited form than the version released on 1991 international edition of ''CHOBA B CCCP''. "Veronica" is a song by Elvis Costello, released in 1989 as the lead single from the album ''Spike''. The song was co-written by Costello with Paul McCartney, and was co-produced with T-Bone Burnett and Kevin Killen, and features Paul McCartney on his iconic Höfner bass. In 2004, ''Entertainment Weekly'' voted it one of Costello's top ten greatest tunes. "Veronica" was also Costello's highest-charting top 40 hit in the United States, peaking at No. 19 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 singles chart, No. 1 on its Hot Modern Rock Tracks chart, and No. 10 on its Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. ''Press to Play'' is the sixth solo studio album by English musician Paul McCartney, released on 25 August 1986. It was McCartney's first album of entirely new music since ''Pipes of Peace'' in 1983, and his first solo album to be issued internationally by EMI following a six-year alliance with Columbia Records in the United States and Canada. Keen to re-establish himself after his poorly received 1984 musical film ''Give My Regards to Broad Street (film), Give My Regards to Broad Street'', McCartney enlisted producer Hugh Padgham to give the album a contemporary sound. Paul McCartney Archive Collection
The Paul McCartney Archive Collection is an ongoing project to remaster and reissue Paul McCartney's solo catalogue, including various albums released with Wings. These editions feature deluxe packaging and bonus rare tracks. Thus far, there have been fourteen releases since the project began in 2010 (seven solo albums, six Wings albums, and one new Wings live album of previously unreleased material). They are overseen by McCartney himself and remastered at Abbey Road Studios. Albums reissued in this project are visually marked by a white stripe along the left side of the album cover that reads "Paul McCartney Archive Collection" and a copy of McCartney's signature. Linda McCartney
Linda Louise McCartney, Lady McCartney ( Eastman; September 24, 1941 – April 17, 1998) was an American photographer, musician, animal rights activist, vegetarian cookbook author and advocate, and entrepreneur. She was the keyboardist in the band Wings, which also featured her husband, Paul McCartney, a former member of the Beatles. Wings Over The World Tour
The Wings Over the World tour was a series of concerts in 1975 and 1976 by the British–American rock band Wings performed in Britain, Australia, Europe, the United States and Canada. The North American leg constituted band leader Paul McCartney's first live performances there since the Beatles' final tour, in 1966, and the only time Wings would perform live in the US and Canada. The world tour was well-attended and critically acclaimed, and resulted in a triple live album, ''Wings over America'', which Capitol Records released in December 1976.
