Descansos
''Descansos'' (Spanish: ''Resting Places'') is a 2009 American neo-realist film written and directed by Chris Roybal, his second feature film and first to be released. The drama features, in neo-realist fashion, an ensemble cast of professional and non-professional actors. The drama consists of eight vignettes that take you across Northern New Mexico. Following several different characters dealing with love and loss for people who are soon to die or already have died, the film spans Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Nambe, Espanola, Taos, and finally ending at the sacred Santuario de Chimayo. The film premiered at the National Hispanic Cultural Center on February 6, 2009. Edward Bell (singer/songwriter)
Edward Bell (born 7 September 1987, Windsor, Berkshire, England) is an English singer-songwriter, who has been active since 2003. Life and career Bell became a probationer at St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle in 1995, and was surpliced in 1996. A regular soloist from 1999 onwards, his first solo was "Domine Deus" from Vivaldi's ''Gloria'', performed in front of Princess Alexandra for the Rose Trust. Highlights at Windsor included singing with José Carreras, Mark Dobell and Joanne Lunn. On leaving St George's School in 2001, he was offered a Major Music Scholarship to Abingdon School, but decided instead to take up an academic scholarship, and a music scholarship at St Edward's School, Oxford. While in Oxford, he was offered the opportunity to sing with The Sixteen, Henry Herford, and as a part-time tenor for the Keble College Choir, Oxford under Simon Whalley. A roadside memorial is a marker that usually commemorates a site where a person died suddenly and unexpectedly, away from home. Unlike a grave site headstone, which marks where a body is laid, the memorial marks the last place on earth where a person was alive – although in the past travelers were, out of necessity, often buried where they fell. Usually the memorial is created and maintained by family members or friends of the person who died. Santuario De Chimayo
El Santuario de Chimayó is a Roman Catholic church in Chimayó, New Mexico, United States. (''Santuario'' is Spanish for "sanctuary".) This shrine, a National Historic Landmark, is famous for the story of its founding and as a contemporary pilgrimage site.
