Flower In The Rain
''Flower In The Rain'' is a 1972 Hong Kong romantic drama film directed by Kim Soo-Yong. Plot A rich girl and her boyfriend run off to Singapore after her father objects to their relationship. Her boyfriend is injured and they run short of money. Unable to find a job, she works in a nightclub and becomes one of the most sought after girls. Her boss rapes her when she decides to quit. Her boyfriend finds out and a fight ensues, in which the boss is killed. In grief, she kills herself by falling off a cliff. Ling Yun () (born 1941) is a Taiwanese-born actor in Taiwan and Hong Kong. Early life On January 15, 1941, Ling was born in Taiwan as Lin Long-song. Career Ling started his acting career in Taiwan under the alias of Long Song. Lin first appeared in Ah San Ge Chu Ma (aka A Brother-in-law), a 1959 Hokkien language Taiwan film directed by Lin Tuan-Chiu. Ling joined Shaw Brothers in 1964. In 1965, Ling first appeared in Hong Kong film. Ling appeared in Pink Tears, a 1965 Hong Kong Mandarin-language film directed by Chun Kim. In Hong Kong, Ling changed his name to Ling Yun. Ling's last Hong Kong film was Legend of the Bat (aka Clans of Intrigue 2, Bat Island Adventure), a 1978 Hong Kong Cantonese-language film directed by Chor Yuen. Chen Yanyan (; 12 January 1916 – 7 May 1999), born Chen Jianyan, was a Chinese actress and film producer in the cinema of Republic of China (1912–1949), British Hong Kong and Taiwan. Life Chen was born as Chen Jianyan in Ningbo, China in 1916. Chen was obsessed with films as a young girl. When she was 14 she visited the set of "Spring Dream in the Old Capital (故都春梦)" which the Lianhua Film Company was recording in Beijing. She returned each day after attending the Sacred Heart Girls School and struck up a conversation with Cai Chusheng who was to shortly direct his own films. She was given a chance to appear in the film as a screen test by the director Sun Yu. Her appearance was not included in the film as she had been cast as a prostitute and she looked too young for that to be acceptable.
