Florin Maxim
Florin Sandu Maxim (born 2 March 1981) is a Romanian former professional footballer and currently a manager. He usually played as a left-back, but also played as a left midfielder for teams such as Aurul Brad, Unirea Alba Iulia, Sportul Studențesc or Farul Constanța, among others. Maxim had a very powerful shot and ability to score long-distance goals. Career Steaua București Maxim started to play football in his home-town, Brad, Hunedoara, at CIF Aliman Academy. He also played for Aurul Brad and FC Corvinul Hunedoara. Seen by Victor Pițurcă as an excellent choice for the left-back position, Maxim was approached by Romania's most successful club, FC Steaua București. He was later loaned at Apullum Alba-Iulia. Brad, Hunedoara
Brad (; hu, Brád; german: Tannenhof) is a city in Hunedoara County in the Transylvania region of Romania. Its name comes from the Romanian word ''brad'', " fir". Geography The city is located in the northern part of the county, at the foot of the Metaliferi Mountains. It lies in the valleys of the river Crișul Alb and its tributaries, Brad and Luncoiu. Five villages are administered by the city: Mesteacăn ("birch"; ''Mesztákon''), Potingani (''Pottingány''), Ruda-Brad (''Ruda''), Țărățel (''Cerecel'') and Valea Bradului ("the valley of the fir tree"; ''Vályabrád''). History A gold mine in the area began to be exploited in Roman times, and the town developed around it. The earliest documentary mention of Brad dates to 1445. Gold mining was active until 2006. Aurul Brad
Clubul Sportiv Armata Aurul Brad, commonly known as CSA Aurul Brad, or simply as Aurul Brad, is a Romanian amateur football club based in Brad, Hunedoara County, founded in 1934. The club is currently playing in the Liga IV. History Aurul Brad was founded in 1934, under the name of ''Mica Brad''. Throughout its over 85 years of history, the club was also known as ''Metalul Brad'' or ''Progresul Brad''. In the 1940–41 season, Aurul Brad played in the Divizia A, the first tier of the Romanian football league system. This was a notable achievement for a small town like Brad and the team was also able to finish in 5th, out of 13. That was the last season before World War II. After WWII, Aurul never managed to play again in the first league, despite it was never relegated. The Liga 3, most often spelled as Liga III, is the third level of the Romanian football league system. Its name was changed from Divizia C to Liga III before the start of the 2006–07 season. The Romania national under-21 football team, also known as Romania under-21s or Romania U21(s), is considered to be the feeder team for the Romania national football team. This team is for Romanian players aged under 21 at the start of the calendar year in which a two-year European Under-21 Football Championship campaign begins, so some players can remain with the squad until the age of 23. As long as they are eligible, players can play for Romania at any level, making it possible to play for the U21s, senior side, and again for the U21s. It is also possible to play for one country at youth level and another at senior level (providing the player has not played a senior competitive game in his previous country.) FC Gloria Buzău (), commonly known as Gloria Buzău, is a Romanian association football club based in Buzău. The club currently plays in the Liga II. Gavril Balint
Gavril Pele "Gabi" Balint (born 3 January 1963) is a Romanian football manager and former player, who was part of the hugely successful Steaua team of the 1980s. Club career Born in Sângeorz-Băi, Bistrița, Balint made his Divizia A debut with Steaua București in 1981 where he played until 1990 winning the league titles in 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988 and 1989, the Romanian Cup in 1985, 1987 and 1989, the 1985–86 European Cup and the European Super Cup in 1987. At the end of the 1989–90 season, Balint became the top goalscorer of the Divizia A with 19 goals. He scored the second and last goal at the penalties shoot-out during the 1986 European Cup final, helping his team, Steaua to win the trophy. In 1990, he was bought by Real Burgos for $1,000,000. Ioan Andone
Ioan Andone (; born 15 March 1960) is a Romanian football coach and former player. Club career Ioan Andone, nicknamed "Fălcosul" was born on 15 March 1960 in Șpălnaca and when he was 14 years old he played basketball and football simultaneously, Carol Gal being his first football coach at Școala Sportivă Hunedoara, after which at 16 he decided to concentrate exclusively on his football career when he went at Corvinul Hunedoara's youth center where he was coached by Dumitru Pătrașcu. On 7 March 1979, Andone made his Divizia A debut for Corvinul when coach Mircea Lucescu sent him on the field in order to replace Radu Nunweiller in the last 20 minutes of a 2–0 away loss against Sportul Studențesc București.
