State Road 143 (SR 143) is a north–south route in Jennings, FL, Jennings, Hamilton County, Florida, running from Interstate 75 (Florida), I-75 to U.S. Route 41 (Florida), US 41. South of I-75, County Road 143 continues through Florida State Road 6, SR 6 at Blue Springs, Florida, Blue Springs toward CR 141 near Twin Rivers State Forest. At its northern terminus with US 41, SR 143 connects with County Road 141, which goes north to the Georgia border, becoming Georgia State Route 135, State Route 135. Major intersections References

History The State Road Department, the predecessor of today's Department of Transportation, was authorized in 1915 by the Florida Legislature. For the first two years of its existence, the department acted as an advisory body to the 52 counties in the state, helping to assemble maps and other information on roads.
