Florence Roberts (March 16, 1861/1864 – June 6, 1940(photo included) was an American actress of the stage and in motion pictures. Stock company actress Born in New York City, she began acting onstage there. Her career began at the Brooklyn Opera House in ''Hoop of Gold''. She secured her first stage role with the Denman Thompson Company and played leads with the N.B. Curtis Company. This experience led to appearances on Broadway. She once starred in ''Zala'', a production of David Belasco. She headed a stock company in Philadelphia, for a period of 15 years. The actress made three world tours in stock. There was a South African repertoire and a tour of Australia with the Henry Duffy players. She also played in stock companies in Boston and other cities. Florence Roberts (February 14, 1871 – July 17, 1927) was an American stage actress and the second wife of actor Lewis Morrison. Biography Roberts was born in New York but raised in California and had early success in the San Francisco area beginning in 1889. She performed at the Baldwin Theatre and the Alcazar Theatre often playing Shakespearean parts. In 1905 she toured a play called ''Ana La Mont'' under the management of John Cort.''Who Was Who in the Theatre: 1912 - 1976'', Gale Research Co., 1976, pp. 2040 – 2041, originally published annually by John Parker. She toured plays in the Western United States but seldom to New York. After World War I she toured South Africa in the stage adaptation of '' Mrs. Wiggs of the Cabbage Patch''. After returning to the United States she appeared in a few silent films then retired. She died in Los Angeles in 1927, aged 56, after emergency surgery. ''Everything's Rosie'' is a 1931 American Pre-Code slapstick comedy film directed by Clyde Bruckman, from a screenplay by Ralph Spence, Tim Whelan, and Al Boasberg, based on a story by Boasberg. Although the screenplay was credited as original, it bore a striking resemblance to a 1923 play, ''Poppy'', which had starred W.C. Fields. The film starred Robert Woolsey, one-half of the comedy team of Wheeler & Woolsey, and was an attempt by RKO Radio Pictures to capitalize on the popularity of the comedy duo, having each of the team star in their own solo films.
