Florence Omagbemi
Florence Omagbemi (born 2 February 1975) is a Nigerian former football midfielder. She was part of the Nigeria women's national football team across four FIFA Women's World Cups, several Africa Women Cup of Nations and at the 2000 Summer Olympics. In 2016, she was named interim coach of the national side, having previously been an assistant coach to the Nigeria women's national under-20 football team. International playing career Omagbemi played for the Nigeria women's national football team for over a decade, appearing in four FIFA Women's World Cups including being a member of the team that reached the second round in 1999 before losing to Brazil. As captain, she won the Africa Women Cup of Nations with the "Super Falcons" on four occasions in 1998, 2000, 2002 and 2004. She was also part of the Nigerian team which competed the Summer Olympics for the first time in the 2000 tournament in Australia. Warri

1998 African Women's Championship
The 1998 African Women's Championship was the 3rd edition of the international women's association football tournament organized by CAF. Since this edition, the tournament has been organized biennially and was hosted by a country unlike the previous two editions. Nigeria hosted this edition from 17 to 31 October 1998 and Nigeria women's national football team, its women's team successfully defended its title, winning it for a 3rd time after beating Ghana women's national football team, Ghana 2–0 in the final, with both qualifying for 1999 FIFA Women's World Cup, the following year's FIFA Women's World Cup in the United States. The 2016 Women's Africa Cup of Nations was the 12th edition of the biennial international football championship organised by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for the women's national teams of Africa. The tournament was held in Cameroon between 19 November and 3 December 2016. The initial dates were 8–22 October 2016, but were changed due to weather considerations. A total of eight teams played in the tournament. On 6 August 2015, the CAF Executive Committee decided to change the name of the tournament from the African Women's Championship to the Women's Africa Cup of Nations, similar to the men's version, Africa Cup of Nations. African Women's Championship
The Women's Africa Cup of Nations, also called the TotalEnergies Women's Africa Cup of Nations for sponsorship reasons and abbreviated to WAFCON, is an international women's football competition held every two years and sanctioned by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). It was first contested in 1991, but was not held biennially until 1998. Nigeria is the most successful nation in the tournament's history, having won a record 11 titles, meaning they have won all but three of the previous tournaments. The three tournaments ''not'' won by Nigeria were won by Equatorial Guinea and South Africa; Equatorial Guinea won the two competitions in which it were the host. The Nigeria Football Federation (known as Nigeria Football Association until 2008) is Nigeria's football governing body. 2015 African Games
The 11th African Games took place from September 4–19, 2015 in Brazzaville, Republic of the Congo. This edition marked the 50th anniversary of the Games, as well as their return to Brazzaville, which hosted the first edition in 1965. Host awarding Ghana, Kenya and Congo all showed interest in bidding for the 11th edition of the Games. On September 14, 2011, the Supreme Council for Sports in Africa awarded the rights to Brazzaville to host. Name change In January 2012 during the Executive Council meeting of the African Union held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia was taken a decision for the name change from All-Africa Games to African Games. The 2012 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup was the 6th edition of the tournament. The tournament was played in Japan from 19 August to 8 September, with sixteen national football soccer teams and mark the first hosting of a FIFA women's football tournament in the country. The host nation were to be decided on 19 March 2010 but was postponed by FIFA to give bidders more time to prepare their bids. On 3 March 2011 FIFA initially awarded the World Cup to Uzbekistan. However, on 18 December 2011 FIFA had the tournament stripped from this country for problems with the bid and named Japan as a possible host.
