Flights Of Fantasy
''Flights of Fantasy'' is a collectible card game. Publication history ''Flights of Fantasy'' is an out-of-print fantasy trading card art set that was turned into a collectible card game near the end of its development and marketed as a "Collectors Card Set & Game". The game is technically the second CCG ever released, however it's not considered a serious contender. It was published by Destini Productions and was released in September 1994. Description The set had 118 cards and was sold only in booster packs. The game is generally not considered the second CCG released after Magic: the Gathering because of its gimmicky nature. The game mechanics appear to be "grafted on" and merely an afterthought, and it lacks a uniform card back. All card back art was created by Ed Beard Jr. According to Beard, as a "first collector card/game" it began production in May 1992.> The card art was designed specifically to match a storyline, featuring "novel-like" card backs. The game claimed t ...

Booster Pack
In collectible card games, digital collectible card games and collectible miniature wargames, a booster pack is a sealed package of cards or figurines, designed to add to a player's collection. A box of multiple booster packs is referred to as a booster box. Booster packs contain a small number of randomly assorted items (8–15 for cards; 3–8 for figurines). Booster packs are the smaller, cheaper counterparts of starter decks, though many expansion sets are sold only as booster packs. While booster packs are cheaper than starter packs, the ''price per item'' is typically higher. Booster packs are generally priced to serve as good impulse purchases, with prices comparable to a comic book and somewhat lower than those of most magazines, paperback books, and similar items. In many games, there is a fixed distribution based on rarity, while others use truly random assortments. When the distribution is based on rarity, booster packs usually contain one or two rares, depending on th ...

Gimmick
A gimmick is a novel device or idea designed primarily to attract attention or increase appeal, often with little intrinsic value. When applied to retail marketing, it is a unique or quirky feature designed to make a product or service "stand out" from its competitors. Product gimmicks are sometimes considered mere novelties, and tangential to the product's functioning. Gimmicks are occasionally viewed negatively, but some seemingly trivial gimmicks of the past have evolved into useful, permanent features. The term is also sometimes used to describe unusual features or playstyles in video games, usually if they are unnecessary or obnoxious. Etymology The origin of the term "gimmick" is uncertain. Etymologists suggest that the term emerged in the United States in the early 20th century. The ''Oxford Dictionary'' suggests that it may have originally been a slang term for something that a con artist or magician manipulated to make appearances different from reality and gradually ...
