Jaap Flier
Jaap Flier (27 February 1934 – 18 March 2022) was a Dutch dancer and choreographer. Life and career Flier was born in Scheveningen, Netherlands, and studied with Sonia Gaskell. He made his debut as a dancer in 1950 with Ballet Recital and then took a dance position with Netherlands Ballet. He made his debut as choreographer with ''The Trial'' in 1955. He also appeared as a dancer in the film ''Karneval'' in 1961. Flier was a founding member of Netherlands Dance Theatre in 1959 and worked as one of its principal dancers. Jeffrey Scott Flier
Jeffrey Flier is an American physician, endocrinologist, widely cited scientist, ''Higginson Professor of Medicine and Physiology, and Harvard University Distinguished Service Professor'' at Harvard Medical School. He was the 21st Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Harvard University from 2007 to 2016. Early life and career Flier was born in New York City, and grew up in the Pelham Parkway section of the Bronx. He is the son of Milton R. Flier, a World War II C-47 pilot and businessperson, and Dorothy (Kroll) Flier, who taught junior high school mathematics. Manon Nummerdor-Flier (born 8 February 1984 in Nieuwleusen, Overijssel) is a retired volleyball player from the Netherlands, who plays as an opposite. Career Flier was named Most Valuable Player at the 2007 FIVB World Grand Prix in Ningbo, PR China, where the Dutch national team won the gold medal. Flier lost the bronze medal at the 2010–11 CEV Champions League after her team Scavolini Pesaro was defeated 3–1 by the Turkish Fenerbahçe Acıbadem. She was individually awarded "Best Spiker". Natasha Flyer (born 1969) is an American earth scientist and applied mathematician known for her expertise on radial basis functions. She works as a research scientist in the Analytics and Integrative Machine Learning laboratory of the National Center for Atmospheric Research, and is also an affiliate of the Department of Applied Mathematics at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Yakov Vladimirovich Flier (russian: Я́ков Влади́мирович Флие́р; , 1912 – December 18, 1977; last name also spelled Fliere or Fliyer) was a Jewish Russians, Russian concert pianist and teacher. Flier was born in Orekhovo-Zuyevo, Imperial Russia, Russia. He studied piano at the Moscow Conservatory with Konstantin Igumnov. By the 1930s, he had become one of the most prominent Russian concert pianists. He mainly performed Romantic music, although he also played some works by contemporary Russian composers Dmitry Kabalevsky, Dmitri Shostakovich, German Galynin, Sergei Prokofiev and Rodion Shchedrin.
