Margot Flemming
Margot Flemming (born December 9, 1993) is a Canadian curler from Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. She currently plays third on Team Kerry Galusha. Career While in juniors, Flemming played third for Kendall Haymes. Despite not winning a provincial junior title, the team did win the U18 Ontario Curling Championships in 2010 with second Cassie Savage and lead Megan Arnold. Flemming and her team skipped by Shannon Jay qualified for the 2015 Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts by winning their regional qualifier. At the provincial championship, the team finished in ninth place with a 3–6 round robin record. The following season, Flemming left the Jay rink and joined Team Kerry Lackie. On the tour, the team missed the playoffs in all three of their events. They weren't able to qualify for the 2016 Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts either, losing out in their regional qualifier. Walther Flemming (21 April 1843 – 4 August 1905) was a German biologist and a founder of cytogenetics. He was born in Sachsenberg (now part of Schwerin) as the fifth child and only son of the psychiatrist Carl Friedrich Flemming (1799–1880) and his second wife, Auguste Winter. He graduated from the ''Gymnasium der Residenzstadt'', where one of his colleagues and lifelong friends was writer Heinrich Seidel. Career Flemming trained in medicine at the University of Prague, graduating in 1868. Afterwards, he served in 1870–71 as a military physician in the Franco-Prussian War. From 1873 to 1876 he worked as a teacher at the University of Prague. In 1876 he accepted a post as a professor of anatomy at the University of Kiel. He became the director of the Anatomical Institute and stayed there until his death. Hugh John Alexander "Ted" Flemming (born June 13, 1954) is a Canadian politician, currently serving as MLA for the electoral district of Rothesay in New Brunswick. Flemming was elected to the legislature in a by-election on June 25, 2012. Flemming graduated from the University of New Brunswick law school in 1978 and was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1992. He has served on the board of directors of the New Brunswick Securities Commission, the Saint John Port Authority and the Business Development Bank of Canada. He is not an actively practicing lawyer. Before politics Flemming was born on June 13, 1954 in Sussex, New Brunswick. He is the son of Hugh John Flemming, Jr., a university professor. Edward Joseph Flemming (30 October 1902, date of death unknown) was an Australian rules footballer who played 229 games for West Perth in the WAFL/WANFL from 1922 to 1938. He is a half back flanker in West Perth's official 'Team of the Century'. Flemming was a versatile player and despite spending much of his career as a defender topped the league's goal kicking in 1925 with 50 goals. A dual West Perth Best and fairest winner, Flemming also won a Sandover Medal in 1930. He captained West Perth in the 1931 season and played in three premiership teams during the 1930s. He was a regular interstate football representative for Western Australia and played in a variety of positions for his state. Sarah Mae Flemming Brown (June 28, 1933 – June 16, 1993) was an African-American woman who was expelled from a bus in Columbia, South Carolina, seventeen months before Rosa Parks refused to surrender her seat on an Alabama bus in 1955. Robert Flemming (died 1456), was dean of Lincoln. Background Robert Flemming, born in the diocese of York, was likely an illegitimate son of Robert Flemming, esquire, of Wath, near Ripon (d.1459). His aunt, Cecily Fleming, married, in 1407, Robert Waterton, ' Henry IV's esquire and right-hand man'. His uncle, Richard Fleming (d.1431), was Bishop of Lincoln and the founder of Lincoln College, Oxford.
