Naval Air Facility Atsugi
is a joint Japan-US naval air base located in the cities of Yamato and Ayase in Kanagawa, Japan. It is the largest United States Navy (USN) air base in the Pacific Ocean and once housed the squadrons of Carrier Air Wing Five (CVW-5), which deploys with the aircraft carrier . During 2017 and 2018 the fixed-wing aircraft of CVW-5 relocated to Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni in western Japan. CVW-5 shares the base with the Headquarters Fleet Air Force and Fleet Air Wing 4 of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF). Fleet Readiness Center East (FRCE) is a US Navy aviation repair and maintenance facility located in Havelock, North Carolina on Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point. FRC East is one of nine main subsidiaries of the Navy's Fleet Readiness Center Command History FRC East began operations during World War II as the Assembly and Repair Department(A&R) at MCAS Cherry Point, N.C. Fleet Readiness Center Mid-Atlantic (FRCMA) is an American naval aviation maintenance and repair facility headquartered on board NAS Oceana. Fleet Readiness Center Northwest
Fleet Readiness Center Northwest (FRCNW) is located in Oak Harbor, Washington and is part of Naval Air Station Whidbey Island. Although originally named Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Detachment and established in 1959, it was changed on October 10, 2008 and is a subsidiary of the Navy's Fleet Readiness Center Command. Responsibility The command is tasked with supporting 13 EA-18G, 8 P-3/ EP-3 squadrons, 11 aircraft carriers, and 1 C-40 squadron by maintaining and repairing equipment that is not suitable to complete at the organization level with the typical manning and capability.
