Flavino Ríos Alvarado
Flavino Ríos Alvarado (born December 22, 1950) is a Mexican politician affiliated to the Institutional Revolutionary Party who served as the Interim Governor of Veracruz from October 12 to November 30, 2016. Life Ríos was born in Minatitlán and obtained a doctorate degree in law from the UNAM; he also taught law at the UNAM and Universidad Veracruzana and is a licensed public notary. He would go on to serve in the state government as executive secretary to the State Public Safety Council and as subsecretary of government. In 2010, Ríos was elected from the 28th state district of Veracruz, representing Minatitlán, to the 62nd Legislature of Veracruz. He was the president of the Political Coordination Board, the highest post in the state legislature. Javier Duarte De Ochoa
Javier Duarte de Ochoa (born 19 September 1973) is a Mexican politician formerly affiliated with the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) who served as Governor of Veracruz from 2010 to 2016. He also served as congressman during the LXI Legislature of the Mexican Congress representing Veracruz, leaving his seat on 16 February 2010. On 4 July 2010 Duarte de Ochoa won the election for governor, becoming the candidate to receive the most votes in the state's history with 1,392,386 votes according to the final electoral tally. In October 2016, Duarte was officially declared a fugitive criminal by Mexican authorities due to corruption during his time as governor of Veracruz and was apprehended on April 15, 2017. Miguel Ángel Yunes Linares (born December 5, 1952) is a Mexican politician and former Governor of Veracruz from 2016 to 2018. Minatitlán, Veracruz
Minatitlán is a city in southeastern Mexican state of Veracruz in the Olmec region of the state and the north of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec. In 2010 the greater metropolitan area had a population of 356,020. The municipality covers an area of and includes many small outlying communities. Much of the city sits on reclaimed wetlands, and many new homes built on this reclaimed land have a tendency to sink up to several meters before settling. Much of the surrounding undeveloped land is marshy, especially towards the northeast direction of Coatzacoalcos. Minatitlán is home to the ''Refinería Gral.
