Flav-R-Straws
Flav-R-Straws were a form of drinking straw with a flavoring included, designed to make drinking milk more pleasant for children. They were first marketed in the United States in 1956 by Flav-R-Straws Inc. The product became highly successful. They were widely promoted through an advertising campaign that included double-page advertisements in ''LIFE'' magazine. Wednesday, 19 September 2018 In the 1956 movie, "Beyond a Reasonable Doubt", an ad for "Flav-r Straws" made a brief, but conspicuous cameo appearance on a brick wall, behind the actors, almost half-way into the film. Flav-R-Straws were withdrawn from the market in 1961 due to their relatively high cost compared with Nestlé Quik and other relatively low-cost milk additives such as Bosco Chocolate Syrup and Hershey's Syrup. Drinking Straw
A drinking straw is a utensil that is intended to carry the contents of a beverage to one's mouth. Straws are commonly made from plastics but environmental concerns and new regulation have led to rise in reusable and biodegradable straws. These straws are often made of silicone, cardboard, or metal. A straw is used by placing one end in one's mouth and the other in a beverage. By employing suction, the air pressure in one's mouth drops causing atmospheric pressure to force the liquid through the straw and into the mouth. Drinking straws can be straight or have an angle-adjustable bellows segment. Drinking straws have historically been intended as a single-use product and several countries, regions, and municipalities have banned single-use plastic straws to reduce plastic pollution. Bosco Chocolate Syrup is a brand of chocolate syrup first produced in 1928. The company, Bosco Products, Inc., is based in Towaco, New Jersey, and products are sold throughout the United States and Europe. The UDS can add flavour, energy, vitamins, nutrition, and even pharmaceuticals to liquid sipped through it.
