South Beaver Elementary School
South Beaver Elementary School was an elementary school in Flagstaff, Arizona. The school was a part of Flagstaff Unified School District (FUSD) up until its closure in 2010. However, the school was leased, and later purchased, by Northern Arizona University (NAU) and is now used for the intensive English program for non-native English speakers. History Created in May 1935 by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), South Beaver Elementary was a segregated school for Hispanic students, and later African-American students after the closure of Dunbar School, and remained segregated up until the 1950s. The school was primarily dominated by said ethnic groups until its closure. South Beaver has had close relations with NAU since the 1940s with NAU students helping to teach and tutor at South Beaver to NAU donating 18 Macintosh SE computers to the school in 1995. Sinagua High School
Sinagua High School was the third public district high school in Flagstaff, Arizona. It opened in 1989 and was closed in 2009. Three other schools were also closed at the same time. The school's colors were royal blue and gray. The mascot was the Mustangs. Closure Sinagua's enrollment had remained steady for years between 960 and 1,070 students, but enrollment elsewhere, such as at Coconino High School, was falling. Coconino High School (CHS) is a public secondary school located in Flagstaff, Arizona (US). It is part of the Flagstaff Unified School District and is one of the district's three high schools. Located at 2801 North Izabel Street, Coconino High School serves students in grades nine through twelve and currently enrolls 1,446 students as of 2012. The school's mascot is the panther. Tolani Lake ( nv, To'ne'heliih, meaning "Water Collecting in a Basin") is a census-designated place in the eastern portion of Coconino County, Arizona, United States, near the Navajo County border. Tolani Lake is located north of Winslow. The population as of the 2010 U.S. Census was 280. Demographics Economy Commuters go to Leupp, Winslow, and Flagstaff for employment. Birdsprings, Arizona
Birdsprings (Tsídi to'ii) is a settlement in unincorporated Navajo County, Arizona, north of Winslow. The Little Colorado River runs through Birdsprings. It is in the southwestern portion of the Navajo Nation reservation and is part of District 5. The name Birdsprings is in reference to spring that at one time drew birds. The community is small and has a chapter, which was established on December 5, 1955. Education The Flagstaff Unified School District is the local school district. Residents attend Leupp Elementary School. There is a tribal elementary school called Little Singer Community School, affiliated with the Bureau of Indian Education (BIE).
