Five O’Clock Heroes
Five O'Clock Heroes are a new wave influenced indie rock band currently based in New York City. Lead singer Antony Ellis is originally from Northampton in the UK. They first formed in 2003 and to date have released five singles and three albums, '' Bend to the Breaks'', '' Speak Your Language'', and '' Different Times''. Their name comes from The Jam's song " Just Who Is The Five O'Clock Hero?", which appeared on their album ''The Gift of 1982''. The band cite the likes of Elvis Costello, The Police, Joe Jackson and Dexys Midnight Runners as major influences, and have made a name for themselves, particularly in the UK, through charismatic and energetic live performances. Joe Jackson (musician)
David Ian "Joe" Jackson (born 11 August 1954) is an English musician, singer and songwriter. Having spent years studying music and playing clubs, he scored a hit with his first release, "Is She Really Going Out with Him?", in 1979. It was followed by a number of new wave singles, before he moved to more jazz-inflected pop music and had a top 10 hit in 1982 with " Steppin' Out". Founded by editor Sean Adams, the site features reviews, news, interviews, and discussion forums. Jet was an Australian rock band, formed in Melbourne, Victoria in 2001. The Paddingtons
The Paddingtons are an English indie rock band from Hull. Between April 2005 and 9 November 2006, they played over 150 live shows, including venues such as Trent Park Golf Club, The Square, Harlow; Jersey Live; Summercase; The Underground, Stoke-on-Trent; T in the Park and at the Reading and Leeds Festivals. The Bravery
The Bravery is an American rock band formed in New York City in 2003. The band consists of lead vocalist Sam Endicott, guitarist Michael Zakarin, keyboardist John Conway, bassist Mike Hindert and drummer Anthony Burulcich. They are best known for their 2005 top 10 UK single "An Honest Mistake" and their certified gold 2008 single "Believe". Brendan Benson (born November 14, 1970) is an American musician and singer-songwriter. He plays guitar, bass guitar, keyboard, and drums. He has released eight solo albums and is a member of the band The Raconteurs. Recording career ''One Mississippi'' Benson was born in Royal Oak, Michigan. His debut album, '' One Mississippi'', was released in 1996 on Virgin Records. The Rakes
The Rakes were an English post-punk band formed in London in 2003. Their first album ''Capture/Release'' released in 2005, received a nine out of ten review in the ''NME'' and was rated 13th best album of the year in the same paper. The band cited in their influences the Specials, Siouxsie and the Banshees and Pulp. The band disbanded in October 2009, after six years. History The Rakes formed in 2002. Their debut album, ''Capture/Release'', spawned the singles "22 Grand Job", "Work, Work, Work (Pub, Club, Sleep)", and "Retreat". Several of their singles appeared in the Top 40 of the UK Singles Chart and ''Capture/Release'' reached No. 32 in the UK Albums Chart.
