Fishersburg is an unincorporated community in Stony Creek Township, Madison County, Indiana. History Fishersburg was laid out in 1837. Charles Fisher started the first store. A post office was established in Fishersburg in 1837 and was closed in 1904. The Geographic Names Information System (GNIS) is a database of name and locative information about more than two million physical and cultural features throughout the United States and its territories, Antarctica, and the associated states of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, and Palau. The southern terminus is at an intersection with U.S. Highway 36 (US 36) and SR 67, in the town of Fortville, and its northern terminus is at the Michigan state line.
