Fiscal Philatelic Society
The Fiscal Philatelic Society (11 January 1902 – 1928) was an early twentieth-century British philatelic society that is seen as a predecessor to today's '' The Revenue Society''. The principal object of the society was the study of fiscal stamps, or, as they are more usually called today, revenue stamps. Objects The objects of the society were: (a) To encourage and advance the study of Fiscals and Revenue Stamps of all Countries. (b) To compile Catalogues of Fiscals. (c) To draw together all interested in these stamps. (d) To form a Library for the use of the Members. (e) To facilitate the exchange of duplicates among members. (f) To appoint corresponding Members and Societies in various countries for the exchange and circulation of information respecting Revenue Stamps. James Benjamin Seymour
James Benjamin Seymour (28 November 1867 – 11 June 1950), of Great Britain, was a philatelist who created an award winning collection, and who wrote some of the key works in British philately. Collecting interests Seymour collected stamps of Great Britain and created a collection of stamps and postal history of that country that won numerous awards at national and international exhibitions. After his death, his collection was auctioned by Robson Lowe. Philatelic literature James Seymour contributed the section on British line engraved stamps in the Kohl Briefmarken-Handbuch, published in Germany in 1923. He was appointed Recorder of Colchester in 1870, a Queen's Counsel in 1874, and was elected a bencher of the Middle Temple in 1876. He was appointed a County Court Judge in 1895. Walter Morley

In 1898 his address is given as 15 Brownhill Gardens, Hither Green, Catford, London S.E. and by 1910 as 325 Brownhill Road, Catford, London S.E. Philatelic publishing Morley was responsible for many early works on revenue, railway and telegraph stamps, as author or publisher. His 1910 revenue catalogue lists his numerous exhibition medals, including Silver in Paris 1892, Gold in Paris 1894, Silver in London 1897 and Gold in Paris again in 1900, all for displays of Fiscal or Telegraph stamps. Jean-Baptiste Moens
Jean-Baptiste Philippe Constant Moens (27 May 1833, Tournai – 28 April 1908) was a Belgium, Belgian philatelist recognized as the first stamp dealer, dealer in stamps for collectors. He was one of the original philatelic literature, philatelic journalists. Youth Moens began stamp collecting, collecting stamps from his family's mail as a boy in Tournai. He was the son of Colette Blangenois and Phillipe Moens, a soldier. He began with a small business in coins. By 1853, at age nineteen, he was buying and selling new and second-hand books, and Postage stamp, stamps, from the Galerie Borthier, a covered walkway in central Brussels. Within a decade he was putting out a stamp catalog with illustrated supplements. Oswald Marsh

Many Marsh covers have addresses created using addressograph plates. Oswald Marsh was not related to Victor Marsh. Stamp dealing Born in Belfast, into a Quaker family, his father Joseph Chandler Marsh, born in Surrey, was an architect practicing in Belfast. Marsh moved to London around 1900 where he had several addresses in the suburb of Norwood. He also briefly had offices at 1 Exeter Street, London W1, around 1914. Jacques Legrand (philatelist)
Dr. Jacques Amable Legrand (29 August 1820 – 6 June 1912) was one of the first collectors of French stamps in the nineteenth century and one of the first organizers and scholars of philately in France as a serious topic of study. He used the pseudonym of Dr. Magnus. He participated actively in the journal ''Le Timbrophile'' and invented the perforation gauge, or odontometer, which has become a basic tool in determining the perforation of stamps. He also fought an unsuccessful battle to reject the title of the subject advocated by Georges Herpin and Arthur Maury as "philately" and sought it to be renamed "Timbrology". Jacques Legrand was one of the founders on 14 June 1875 of the Société Française de Timbrologie, one of the most important philatelic institutions in France, and served as its first secretary.
