First Massimov Cabinet
The First Massimov Cabinet was the 7th government of Kazakhstan, led by Prime Minister Karim Massimov. The change in cabinet was a result of the 2007 Kazakh political shakeup where Massimov's predecessor Daniyal Akhmetov resigned unexpectedly from office on 8 January 2007. Observers believed that it was due to Akhmetov's exhaustion and increasing criticism from President Nursultan Nazarbayev over Akhmetov's oversight of the economy. Nazarbayev nominated Massimov to be the Prime Minister on 9 January who was then confirmed by the Parliament the next day on 10 January. The government lasted until 24 September 2012, when Massimov was appointed as the Head of the Presidential Administration, making him the longest person in Kazakhstan to hold office as the Prime Minister. History The history of Kazakh diplomacy dates back to the period of the Kazakh Khanate where the Khans initiated the development of diplomatic relations and implemented the foreign policy. Erlan Jaqanūly Qoşanov (, ; born 14 August 1962) is a Kazakh politician who is serving as the Chairperson, Chairman of the Mäjilis, Mazhilis since 1 February 2022. Prior to that, he headed the Presidential Administration of Kazakhstan under Tokayev from 18 September 2019 and several posts such as the äkim of Karaganda Region from 14 March 2017 to 18 September 2019 and the head of the Prime Minister's Office (Kazakhstan), Prime Minister's Office from 2 February 2012 to 14 March 2017. Kairat Kelimbetov ( kk, Qaırat Nematuly Kelimbetov; born 28 January 1969) is a Kazakh politician who's currently the Governor of Astana International Financial Centre, a new initiative launched by Kazakhstan government to develop country's non-banking financial sector. He served as a Governor of the National Bank of Kazakhstan from October 1 of 2013 till November 2 of 2015.
