First Light (film)
''First Light'' ( it, La prima luce ), also known as ''The First Light'', is a 2015 drama film written and directed by Vincenzo Marra and starring Riccardo Scamarcio. It was screened in the Venice Days section at the 72nd Venice International Film Festival, in which it won the Pasinetti Award for Venice Days' Best film. Plot Marco is a young and cynical lawyer from Bari. He lives with his partner Martina and their 7-year-old son Mateo. The love story between Marco and Martina, who is Chilean, is about to end. Martina wants to go back to Chile with little Mateo, but Marco doesn't agree as he doesn't want to be separated from his son. However, Martina decides to run away with Mateo, going to Chile and losing her tracks. Marco has no news of his son, and after a period of anguish and confusion he decides to go look for him. Riccardo Scamarcio
Riccardo Dario Scamarcio (; born 13 November 1979) is an Italian actor and film producer. Life and career Scamarcio was born in Trani, Apulia, the son of Irene Petrafesa, a painter, and Emilio Scamarcio. He went to train as an actor at the Scuola Nazionale di Cinema in Rome, where he now lives. His debut acting role was in a TV series in 2000, while his first ever lead role in a feature film was in '' Three Steps Over Heaven'' (2004), directed by Luca Lucini. Through this he immediately became well known to the Italian speaking public, especially a young audience. 72nd Venice International Film Festival
The 72nd annual Venice International Film Festival took place from 2 to 12 September 2015. Alfonso Cuarón served as the President of the Jury for the main competition. A restored version of Federico Fellini's film '' Amarcord'' was shown at the festival. The Venezuelan film '' From Afar'' by Lorenzo Vigas won the Golden Lion award. ''Everest'' was selected as the festival's opening night film, while Guan Hu's drama film '' Mr. Six'' served as the closing night film. Actress and director Elisa Sednaoui hosted the opening and closing ceremonies of the festival.
