The First League of the Republika Srpska ( sh, Prva liga Republike Srpske / ) is a second level football competition in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The league champion is promoted to the Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Relegated teams, depending on how many get relegated, fall to the Second League of the Republika Srpska. History Separate and second tier league Since there were three different football championships in the country, organized on ethnic principles, the "First League of the Republika Srpska" was the top flight in the Republika Srpska before 2002. However, the champions of this League were not recognized by UEFA. In 2002, the top clubs from the Republika Srpska joined the Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the First League was kept as one of two second level divisions. 2014–15 First League Of The Republika Srpska
The 2014–15 First League of the Republika Srpska was the twentieth season of the First League of the Republika Srpska, the second tier football league of Bosnia and Herzegovina, since its original establishment and the thirteenth as a second tier league. It will begin on 18 August 2014 and end on 6 June 2015; a winter break where no matches are played will be in effect between 8 November 2014 and 13 March 2015. FK Drina Zvornik were the last champions, having won their one championship title in the 2013–14 season and earning a promotion to Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Fourteen clubs are participating in this session, ten returning from the previous session, one relegated from Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina, two promoted from two regional Second League of the Republika Srpska. FK Leotar ( sr-cyrl, ФК Леотар), commonly known as Leotar Trebinje or simply Leotar, is a professional football club based in the city of Trebinje that is situated in southern Bosnia and Herzegovina. Founded in 1925 and named after the mountain located just north of the city, the club's home ground is the 8,550-seater Stadion Police. They currently play in the Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the first-tier competition in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Fudbalski klub Borac Kozarska Dubica (Serbian Cyrillic: Фудбалски клуб Борац Козарска Дубица) is a Bosnian football club from the city of Kozarska Dubica, Republika Srpska. They have played in the First League of the Republika Srpska in season 1996–97, but were relegated to the Second League of the Republika Srpska in 1997 as a result of merger of East and West division of First League. In 2004, they were relegated to the Regional League. Fudbalski klub Jedinstvo Brčko (Serbian Cyrillic: Фудбалски клуб Јединство Бpчкo) is a professional association football club from the city of Brčko that is situated in the Brčko District, Bosnia and Herzegovina. FK Podrinje Janja (Serbian Cyrillic: ФК Пoдpињe Jaњa) is a football club from the town of Janja, Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is one of the oldest clubs in the country. Fudbalski klub Tekstilac Derventa ( sr-cyrl, Фудбалски клуб Teкcтилaц Дepвeнтa) is a professional association football club from the town of Derventa, Republika Srpska that is situated in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Tekstilac currently plays in the First League of the Republika Srpska and plays its home matches on the Derventa City Stadium which has a capacity of 1,500 seats. History The first football club in Derventa before World War II was FK Dečko which was formed before FK Tekstilac. After World War II FK Dečko merged into FK Tekstilac Derventa. In the long and rich history of FK Tekstilac Derventa, the teams which played between 1960 and 1968 will be remembered as one of the most talented and the best. The creator and leader of this brilliant team was the legendary attacker Faruk Tarabar. He had plenty football experience and excellent pedagogical skills.
