The First lady or Gentleman of Peru (Spanish: ''Primera Dama o Primer caballero del Perú'') is the title held by the spouse or designated female family member of the president of Peru. The role usually fulfills functions of social work and accompanying the president. There have been a number of first ladies that have been foreign to Peru. History The first pioneer of political leadership in Peru was María Delgado de Odría, wife of President Manuel A. The Government Palace (Spanish: ''Palacio de Gobierno''), also known as the House of Pizarro, is the seat of the executive branch of the Peruvian Government, and the official residence of the President of Peru. The palace is a stately government building, occupying the northern side of the Plaza Mayor in Peru's capital city, Lima. Set on the Rímac River, the palace occupies the site of a very large huaca ("revered object") that incorporated a shrine to Taulichusco, the last kuraka (indigenous governor) of Lima. Susana Shizuko Higuchi Miyagawa ( ja, 樋口 静子, Higuchi Shizuko; 26 April 1950 – 8 December 2021) was a Peruvian politician and engineer. She served as First Lady of Peru from 1990 to 1994 as the wife of President Alberto Fujimori. Agustín Gamarra
Agustín Gamarra Messia (August 27, 1785 – November 18, 1841) was a Peruvian soldier and politician, who served as the 4th and 7th President of Peru. Francisca Zubiaga Y Bernales
Francisca Zubiaga y Bernales (1803–1835) was the first lady of Peru in 1829–1833 by her marriage to president Agustín Gamarra. She was also known as "La Mariscala" (The Field Marshal) and "Doña Pancha". She became known for her courage after having accompanied her spouse on two expeditions to Upper Peru in 1828.
