María De Lourdes Alcívar
Maria de Lourdes Alcívar Crespo (born 15 November 1963) is an Ecuadorian socialite. She has been the First Lady of Ecuador since 24 May 2021 as the wife of President Guillermo Lasso. She was seen as a "key female figure" of the Creating Opportunities party. Early life Alcívar was born in Guayaquil in 1963, however was raised in Samborondón, Ecuador. In 1973, Alcívar met Guillermo Lasso, whom she would marry in 1980. They have five children: María de Lourdes, Juan, Guillermo Enrique, Santiago and María de las Mercedes. Political involvement Alcívar was supportive of her husband and appeared in all of his campaign events in 2013, 2017 and 2021. Carmen Salinas de la Vega (María del Carmen Celestina Ascencia Salinas y de la Vega (June 1807 – ?) was an Ecuadorian aristocrat, and the First Lady of Ecuador to Manuel de Ascásubi from 1849 to 1850 and once again in 1869. Biography Carmen Salinas de la Vega was born María del Carmen Celestina Ascencia Salinas y de la Vega to Juan de Salinas y Zenitagoya, a hero of the Ecuadorian War of Independence, and his wife María de la Vega y Nates, a Creole. When de Salinas was killed in the , the religious community of Quito managed to have the lives of María de la Vega and her oldest daughter María Dolores banished to the Monastery of La Concepción and thus they avoided being hanged for their support of the riot but their property was confiscated by order of the President of the Province of Quito, . Carmen de Santistevan y Avilés (May 3, 1810 – March 30, 1904) was the First Lady of Ecuador from 1856 to 1859 as the wife of President Francisco Robles. Early life Carmen de Santistevan y Avilés was born on May 3, 1810 in Daule, then part of the Spanish Empire. She was the daughter of Gabriel de Santistevan y Olvera and his first wife, Francisca de Avilés y Castro, with whom he had another daughter named Francisca. After her father became a widower, he traveled to Buenos Aires, remarried, and had nine children, never returning to Ecuador. She was a descendant of the paternal line of the Komnenos, an important dynasty of the Byzantine Empire.
