First K. Karunakaran Ministry
The Fifth Kerala Legislative Assembly Council of Ministers in K. Karunakaran's first ministry, was a Kerala Council of Ministers (Kerala Cabinet), the executive wing of Kerala state government, led by Indian National Congress leader K. Karunakaran from 25 March 1977 to 25 April 1977. It comprised 15 ministers, all belonging to the United Front. K. Karunakaran took charge as the Chief Minister of Kerala on 25 March 1977 following a stupendous win in the assembly elections, in which the United Front, led by the Indian National Congress won a record 111 seats. Kerala Congress
Kerala Congress is an Indian political party founded at Kottayam, Kerala in October, 1964, by a block of former Indian National Congress leaders led by K. M. George. The party is primarily active in central Kerala. The establishment of Kerala Congress could be traced to resignation and later death of P. T. Chacko, the Home Minister in the R. Baby John
Baby John (25 October 1917 – 27 January 2008) was a senior leader of the Kerala Revolutionary Socialist Party (Baby John). Previously, he was General Secretary of the Revolutionary Socialist Party (India), Revolutionary Socialist Party in India. He was known in the Kerala state political circles as ‘Kerala Kissinger’ for his abilities to manage political crises at times when the state was passing through difficult political phases.
