First Floor Power is an indie rock band from Sweden. FFP recorded and released their debut EP ''We Are the People'' in 2000 on the Swedish label Silence Records. In 2001 their debut album ''There is Hope'' was released. Swedish National TV produced a one-hour documentary about the band which focused on the struggle and attempts of the band in its early career. Indie pop (also typeset as indie-pop or indiepop) is a music genre and subculture that combines guitar pop with DIY ethic in opposition to the style and tone of mainstream pop music. Silence Records
Silence (Silence Records AB), is a Swedish record company located outside Koppom, Värmland in Sweden. Silence was started in 1970 in Stockholm and released records by, amongst others: Bo Hansson, Philemon Arthur and the Dung, Samla Mammas Manna, and other progressive rock acts. In 1977, Silence moved to a new studio in Värmland, in a converted school, where artists and bands like Twice a Man, Ebba Grön, Dag Vag, Hellacopters, Eldkvarn, and Kent recorded several albums. Crunchy Frog is an independent record label, established in 1994 in Copenhagen, Denmark. The label is owned by the four members of Thau (band), Thau. Jenny Wilson (born 20 October 1975) is a Swedish singer-songwriter. Her music has a distinct electro-influenced style. Wilson founded the band First Floor Power in 1997 and released two albums, ''There Is Hope'' and ''Nerves'', before leaving the band to go solo around 2004. She also studied graphic design at Konstfack for one year. Wilson was signed to The Knife's Rabid Records, and was a guest vocalist on The Knife's album '' Deep Cuts'' on the song '' You Take My Breath Away'' which is about The Knife's Karin Dreijer Andersson going to a First Floor Power show. Wilson is also featured in the music video for the song. Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s.
