First Degree
''First Degree'' was a 9-part drama series made by BBC Wales which aired in 2002. The series followed the lives, trials and tribulations of students in the fictional Bay College, one of several hi-tech media schools owned and run by an enigmatic entrepreneur based in Sacramento, California known only as The Founder. A Big Brother-style virtual eye roves to every corner of the campus 24 hours a day, tracking student movements, while lecturers control their destinies by hatching underhand plots. BBC Cymru Wales is a division of the BBC and the main public broadcaster in Wales. Big Brother (1984)
Big Brother is a fictional character and symbol in George Orwell's dystopian 1949 novel ''Nineteen Eighty-Four''. He is ostensibly the leader of Oceania, a totalitarian state wherein the ruling party, Ingsoc, wields total power "for its own sake" over the inhabitants. In the society that Orwell describes, every citizen is under constant surveillance by the authorities, mainly by telescreens (with the exception of the Proles). The people are constantly reminded of this by the slogan "Big Brother is watching you": a maxim that is ubiquitously on display throughout the novel. Victor Spinetti
Vittorio Giorgio Andre "Victor" Spinetti (2 September 1929 – 19 June 2012) was a Welsh actor, author, poet, and raconteur. He appeared in dozens of films and stage plays throughout his 50-year career, including the three 1960s Beatles films '' A Hard Day's Night'', ''Help!'', and ''Magical Mystery Tour''. Born in Cwm, Spinetti was educated at Monmouth School and the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama in Cardiff, of which he became a Fellow. After various menial jobs, Spinetti pursued a stage career and was closely associated with Joan Littlewood's Theatre Workshop. Among the productions were ''Fings Ain't Wot They Used T'Be'' and ''Oh, What a Lovely War!'' (1963), which transferred to Broadway and for which he won a Tony Award. Abhin Shah or Abhin Galeya is a British actor. He is best known for his roles as PC Arun Ghir in the ITV series ''The Bill'' from 2008 to 2009 and Ash in the 2012 film '' Cleanskin''. Early life and education Galeya grew up in Edgware. He trained at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art. Jonjo O'Neill (actor)
Jonjo O'Neill (born 11 July 1978) is an actor from Northern Ireland known for his stage and television work. O'Neill was born in Belfast, grew up in the Whiterock Road area and was educated at St Mary's Grammar School and the Royal Belfast Academical Institution. Growing up he was passionate about musical theatre and was a member of Ulster Youth Theatre and performed with the Ulster Theatre Company. In 1996 at the age of 18 he won a place and a full scholarship to the Guildford School of Acting, and moved to England. His first television role was the year he graduated from drama school, in ''Extremely Dangerous'' (1999).
