Firestar (Angelica "Angel" Jones) is a superhero appearing in media and American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by Dennis Marks, Dan Spiegle, Christy Marx, John Romita Sr., and Rick Hoberg, the character first appeared in 1981 on the NBC animated television series ''Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends'' as Fire-Star. Firestar has the ability to generate and manipulate microwave radiation, allowing her to fly and create intense heat and flames. Michael Flynn (author)
Michael Francis Flynn (born 1947) is an American science fiction author. Nearly all of Flynn's work falls under the category of hard science fiction, although his treatment of it can be unusual since he has applied the rigor of hard science fiction to "softer" sciences such as sociology in works such as ''In the Country of the Blind''. Much of his short fiction has appeared in '' Analog Science Fiction and Fact''. Biography Flynn was born in Easton, Pennsylvania. He earned a B.A. in Mathematics from La Salle University and an M.S. in topology from Marquette University. He has been employed as an industrial quality engineer and statistician. ''Firestar'' was a four-issue comic book limited series, published in 1986 by Marvel Comics, that established the origin story of the Firestar character within Marvel Comics continuity. Overview Naming conventions In the ''Warriors'' universe, the characters in the five warrior Clans (ThunderClan, RiverClan, WindClan, ShadowClan, and SkyClan) have names composed of two parts. Each cat's name has a prefix (Blue, Bramble, Tall, etc.) which generally stays constant throughout their life. The name's suffix varies through the character's lifespan and position within the Clan, with the bestowing of the new name being a component of the ceremonies marking these role changes. The Star Firestar is a series of single-action semi-automatic pistol consisting of four models that received the 1991 Handgun of the Year Award from ''Guns & Ammo'' magazine. The Firestar was available in 9 mm Para (M-43), .40 S&W (M-40), and .45 ACP (M-45) calibers, all having a single-stack magazine. ''Firestar's Quest'' is a volume in the ''Warriors'' novel series by Erin Hunter. ''Firestar's Quest'' follows Firestar, the leader of ThunderClan, one of the four Clans of cats living in a forest, as he goes on a journey to find the lost fifth Clan, SkyClan. After receiving dreams from the previous leader of SkyClan, Firestar and his mate, Sandstorm, leave ThunderClan to find and rebuild the lost tribe. At the end of the book, the Clan is rebuilt with a leader, medicine cat and territory. It is set in between ''The Darkest Hour'' and ''Midnight''. ''Firestar's Quest'' returns to being written from Firestar's point of view as in the original ''Warriors'' series, after the subsequent series were written from the perspectives of other characters. The book allowed Hunter Erin to explore the old territories again, having moved to the lake territories in ''Dawn''.
