Fiorenzo Carpi
Fiorenzo Carpi (19 October 1918 – 21 May 1997) was an Italian composer and pianist, probably best known for the "Pinocchio" theme. Biography Born in Milan as Fiorenzo Carpi De Resmini, in 1945 he graduated at the Milan Conservatory, pupil of Arrigo Pedrollo and Giorgio Federico Ghedini; then he was a stable member of Piccolo Teatro di Milano since its founding (1947). He also collaborated with the Nobel laureate playwright Dario Fo on all his plays between 1953 and 1967, then sporadically until Carpi's death in 1997. Fo's 1997 play ''Il diavolo con le zinne'' ('' The Devil with Boobs'') featured an homage to Carpi following his death. Carpi was a prolific film score composer, well known for his long collaboration with the director Luigi Comencini. In 1981 he won the David di Donatello for Best Score for Comencini's '' Voltati Eugenio''. ''The Adventures of Pinocchio'' ( it, Le avventure di Pinocchio) is a 1972 Italian five-part miniseries directed by Luigi Comencini, which originally aired weekly on Rai 1 between April 8 and May 6, 1972. Based on Carlo Collodi's 1883 novel with the same name, the miniseries received a large critical success, and had an average of twenty-one and a half million viewers during its first airing. All the episodes together make up 280 minutes of runtime. ''Misunderstood'' ( it, Incompreso) is a 1966 Italian drama film directed by Luigi Comencini. It was entered into the 1967 Cannes Film Festival. Plot Duncombe is the UK Consul General in Florence, Italy. He becomes a widower when his two sons, Andrew and Miles, are still children. Andrew, the elder, apparently reacts with adult maturity to the loss of his mother, looking after little Miles, an attempt to find a way out of such premature heart-crushing loss. Miles constantly blames Andrew for his mischievous behavior but his brother valiantly takes said blame as his personality is that of a grown up, or at least that is what he tries to be. The father, given his mandate, is often absent, both physically and emotionally, especially toward Andrew.
