Fiora Cutler (also known as Amy Cutler; born 21 June 1979), better known mononymously as Fiora, is an Australian musician, singer-songwriter, record producer, and composer born in Launceston, Tasmania, and based in Berlin, Germany. Education Classically trained in singing and violin, Fiora won a scholarship to the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University to study voice completing a bachelor's degree in music performance with Professor Janet Delpratt graduating in 2001. Early career Fiora made her professional debut in opera with Opera Queensland, and as soloist with orchestra performing Handel's ''Messiah'' with the Queensland Orchestra in 2001. With a preference for chamber works and lieder, she performed most often in recital with her longtime friend, pianist and composer Paul Hankinson. ''Salute'' (occasionally known as ''Salute: The Peter Norman Story'') is a 2008 Australian sports documentary film directed, produced and written by Matt Norman. It tells the role of Peter Norman, Norman's uncle, in a defining moment of the American civil rights movement: the 1968 Olympics Black Power salute. Synopsis The film provides an insight into an incident at the 1968 Summer Olympics which saw two United States athletes, Tommie Smith and John Carlos, give the black power salute from the victory dais after the 200 metres final. Guy Noble
Guy Noble is an Australian musical composer, conductor, pianist and broadcaster. Noble studied piano in the early 1980s at the Sydney Conservatorium. On a scholarship from the Australia Council he travelled to London where he worked for four years, including a stint as presenter on BBC Radio 3. In 1984, he was pianist in the Sydney Youth Orchestra and from 1984 to 1986 in the Australian Youth Orchestra. Noble was the inaugural recipient of the Brian Stacey Memorial Trust Award for emerging Australian conductors in 1998; the trust, in collaboration with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, financed the composition and recording of Noble's Flute Concerto, written for Jane Rutter. The Hotel Grand Chancellor Hobart is a twelve-storey hotel located on the waterfront of Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. History Originally part of a waterfront district called 'Wapping', the site where the Hotel Grand Chancellor is situated was historically a place of factory enterprise, industrial gas production, transport and shipping.
