Fiona McDonald
Fiona Maude McDonald (born 1965) is a New Zealand pop singer and television personality. Singer McDonald's first involvement with music came through singing jingles for Auckland student radio station bFM. From that work she was asked to join Auckland band Diatribe which also included musician Greg Johnson. In the early '90s she teamed up with former bFM producers Mark Tierney and Paul Casserly who were looking for a singer for their new studio-only group, Strawpeople. McDonald also briefly sang live with NRA, and provided guest vocals on the Headless Chickens on "Cruise Control". Reaching #6 in the charts, "Cruise Control" proved to be so popular that she was asked to join the band full-time. Three successful years of recording and touring followed, including number one single "George", but McDonald eventually left the band in 1995. In the mid-'90s, McDonald continued to work with the Strawpeople and at the same time worked on songs for her solo album. ''A Different Hunge ...

Huntly, New Zealand
Huntly ( mi, Rahui-Pōkeka) (population ) is a town in the Waikato district and region of the North Island of New Zealand. It was on State Highway 1 (until Huntly bypass opened in March 2020), south of Auckland and north of Hamilton. It is situated on the North Island Main Trunk (NIMT) railway (served by Te Huia since 6 April 2021 at a rebuilt Raahui Pookeka-Huntly Station) and straddles the Waikato River. Huntly is within the Waikato District which is in the northern part of the Waikato region local government area. History and culture Originally settled by Māori, European migrants arrived in the area some time in the 1850s. The Huntly name was adopted in the 1870s when the postmaster named it after Huntly, Aberdeenshire in Scotland. He used an old 'Huntley Lodge' stamp to stamp mail from the early European settlement. The ''Lodge'' was later dropped and the spelling changed to also drop the additional 'e'. The railway from Auckland reached Huntly in 1877, when the Huntl ...

About the show With the help of experts the participant of the show is given a complete make over in an attempt to make them look ''10 Years Younger'', partially through plastic surgery. At the start of the programme the person's age is guessed by 100 people on the street and an average is taken. From this average the target image is set. At the end of the show this happens again to see the results. The pr ...

A Different Hunger
''A Different Hunger'' is the only studio album by New Zealand singer-songwriter Fiona McDonald, released on 30 September 1999 by Flying Nun Records and Mushroom Records. Background and development Despite having interest in creating a solo album, McDonald had only worked with the bands Strawpeople and The Headless Chickens for the first few years of her career as she felt unprepared to embark on a solo career. However, after earning enough income from a television role, she was able to move into her own home and dedicate more time to writing songs for the project, inspired by introspective songwriters such as PJ Harvey and Elliott Smith. Much of ''A Different Hunger'' was recorded at London's Metropolis Studios. McDonald referred to recording overseas as "incredibly important" as it allowed her to avoid "making a record with inevitable New Zealand limitations in mind," although some parts were recorded in New Zealand at Auckland's York Street, Airforce, and Echo Studios. The al ...

Body Blow
''Body Blow'' is the second studio album by New Zealand rock band the Headless Chickens. It was originally released in 1991, then rereleased for Australia in 1993 with a substantially reworked track list, losing "Crash Hot" and "Road Train" but gaining "Mr. Moon", "Juice", "Choppers" and some remixes. Another Australian version followed in 1994 with the addition of a bonus disc containing six remixes. ''Body Blow'' is Headless Chickens' most successful album, including three top-10 singles and achieving double platinum sales. The album includes a cover of "Inside Track", originally recorded as "The Inside Track" by New Zealand new wave band Stridulators. Reviewed in Rolling Stone Australia, the first single, "Gaskrankinstation", was noted for its inability to be categorised. It was described as a "tragic saga of a callous fool trapped in a dumb job and a loveless marriage. The tempo builds inexorably with the sense of an impending catastrophe." On 29 March 2019, an extended versi ...
