Finuge GAA
Finuge is a Gaelic Athletic Association club from Finuge, County Kerry, Ireland. They currently compete in the Kerry Intermediate Football Championship. They also form part of the Feale Rangers divisional team that play in the Kerry Senior Football Championship. Many of the players also play hurling with Lixnaw in the Kerry Senior Hurling Championship. Being a very small club they have a proud history of supplying players to the Kerry Senior team and the Club has a total of 14 Senior All-Ireland Football medals. Gaelic Athletic Association
The Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA; ga, Cumann Lúthchleas Gael ; CLG) is an Irish international amateur sporting and cultural organisation, focused primarily on promoting indigenous Gaelic games and pastimes, which include the traditional Irish sports of hurling, camogie, Gaelic football, Gaelic handball and rounders. The association also promotes Irish music and dance, as well as the Irish language. Munster Intermediate Club Football Championship
The Munster Football Intermediate Club Championship is an annual Gaelic football competition organised by the Munster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association since 2003 for the top intermediate clubs in the province of Munster in Ireland. It is sponsored by Allied Irish Bank and therefore officially known as the AIB Munster GAA Football Intermediate Club Championship. The series of games are played during the autumn and winter months with the Munster final currently being played in late November. The championship has always been played on a straight knockout basis whereby once a team loses they are eliminated from the series. The Munster Championship is an integral part of the wider All-Ireland Intermediate Club Football Championship. The winners of the Munster final join the champions of Connacht, Leinster and Ulster in the semi-final stages of the All-Ireland series of games. Ardfert GAA
Ardfert are a Gaelic football team in north County Kerry, Ireland. They are one of two clubs in Ardfert, St Brendan's Hurling Club being the local hurling club. They play in the County Senior Football Championship and Div 1 County League. By winning the Kerry Junior Football Championship in 2005 by beating Cordal 3–11 to 3–07 they were promoted to the Kerry Intermediate Football Championship and represented Kerry in the Munster Junior Club Football Championship and in that final they beat Erin's Own 1–08 to 0–10 and represented Munster in the All-Ireland Junior Club Football Championship. Pat Corridan
Pat Corridan is a Gaelic footballer from Finuge, County Kerry, in Ireland. Corrdian plays football for the Finuge GAA club, Feale Rangers divisional side and Kerry senior football team. Club career In 2004, Corridan was a member of the Finuge team which won the Kerry Junior Football Championship and went on to win the Munster Championship. The team then reached the All-Ireland Junior Football Championship final in March 2005 and defeated Stewartstown Harps by 11 points to take the title, with Corridan at corner-back. In 2007, Corridan was full-back on the Feale Rangers team which won the Kerry Senior Football Championship for the first time since 1980. Jimmy Deenihan
Jimmy Deenihan (born 11 September 1952) is an Irish former Fine Gael politician who served as Minister of State for the Diaspora from 2014 to 2016, Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht from 2011 to 2014 and Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry from 1994 to 1997. He served as a Teachta Dála (TD) from 1987 to 2016. He was a Senator from 1983 to 1987, after being nominated by the Taoiseach. Deenihan played Gaelic football for the Kerry county team in the 1970s and 1980s. He also played rugby with Garryowen. Éamonn Fitzmaurice
Éamonn Fitzmaurice (born 1977) is an Irish Gaelic football manager and former player. He played at senior level for the Kerry county team and later managed it between 2012 and 2018, during which time he became a member of an exclusive club of people to have won All-Ireland SFC titles as a player and as a manager. He has been involved in 8 All Ireland wins - 1 minor, 2 under 21, 3 senior All Irelands as a player with Kerry, 1 All Ireland club junior with Finuge, 1 All Ireland as a selector and 1 All Ireland as a manager with Kerry. Paul Galvin (Gaelic Footballer)
Paul Galvin (born 2 November 1979) is an Irish sportsperson. He plays Gaelic football with his local club Finuge, his divisional side Feale Rangers and for the Kerry county team between 2003 and 2014. Galvin had the honour of being named as the 1000th All Star Award. He also represented Ireland in the 2004 International Rules Series. Galvin writes a weekly fashion column for the ''Irish Independent'' newspaper and presents a show on Radio Kerry. He has also managed the Wexford footballers. North Kerry Senior Football Championship
The North Kerry Senior Football Championship is a Gaelic football competition for Gaelic Athletic Association, GAA clubs affiliated to the North Kerry Division of Kerry GAA, Kerry. The official name of the competition is The Bernard O'Callaghan Memorial North Kerry Senior Football Championship, in honour of the late Bernie O'Callaghan (Beale) who was Chairman of the North Kerry GAA Board for 25 years (1974 to 1998) and did a huge amount of work for North Kerry football. The Championship runs from October to December each year but has on occasion continued into the New Year due to replays and postponements. The Kerry Intermediate Football Championship is an annual Gaelic football competition contested by mid-tier Kerry GAA clubs. Rathmore are the title holders (2022).. The Munster Junior Club Football Championship, formally known for sponsorship reasons as the AIB Munster GAA Junior Club Football Championship, is a Gaelic football competition, organized by the Munster provincial council of the Gaelic Athletic Association. The competition is played between the winners of the Junior Football championships in the 6 counties of Munster. It was first played officially in 2003 when Annascaul from Kerry and Carbery Rangers from Cork played each other. Finuge
Finuge () is a village near Listowel in County Kerry, Ireland. Finuge is a traditional Irish crossroads village with a shop, a pub, Teach Siamsa and a G.A.A. pitch. Sheehan's Thatched House located at Finuge Cross is regarded as one of the oldest surviving authentic thatched houses in Ireland. Conservation experts estimate it at least 300 years old. The village's name is derived from ''Préachán'', meaning ''crow''. History Around 1660, Finuge was planted by the Desmond Geraldines during the Cromwellian Plantation. At that time, Finuge village was situated near the bank of the River Feale. All-Ireland Junior Club Football Championship
The All-Ireland Junior Club Football Championship is a Gaelic football competition which began in 2002 and is played by the junior club champions of each county. Prior to that a number of unofficial competitions were held. The winners of each county's junior football championship compete in four provincial championships. The four provincial winners compete in the All Ireland. Ardfert Gaa, Ardfert, a club from Kerry, made history when they won the All-Ireland Junior Club Football Championship in 2006 and then won the All-Ireland Intermediate Club Football Championship in 2007. Kerry clubs have enjoyed the most success, with ten clubs winning the All-Ireland Junior Club Football Championship since its official inauguration in 2004.
