Daniel Boone
Daniel Boone (September 26, 1820) was an American pioneer and frontiersman whose exploits made him one of the first folk heroes of the United States. He became famous for his exploration and settlement of Kentucky, which was then beyond the western borders of the Thirteen Colonies. In 1775, Boone blazed the Wilderness Road through the Cumberland Gap and into Kentucky, in the face of resistance from American Indians, for whom Kentucky was a traditional hunting ground. Riverdale, Missouri
Riverdale is an unincorporated community in western Christian County in southern Missouri, United States. The community lies on Finley Creek, approximately four miles southwest of Ozark and two miles east of the Christian - Stone county line. U.S. Route 160 is about one-half mile southwest of the site. The Finley is dammed at Riverdale. History The site was chosen for a water mill site by a Benjamin H. Hooten ''circa'' 1840. This was followed by numerous others, leading to the construction of a three-story mill building in the early 1890s. By 1896, Riverdale had a general store and post office. In the early 1900s, the current dam was constructed and an iron truss bridge crossed the waterway. U.S. Route 160 (US 160) is a 1,465 mile (2,358 km) long east–west United States highway in the Midwestern and Western United States. U.S. Route 65 (US 65) is a north–south United States highway in the southern and midwestern United States. The southern terminus of the route is at U.S. Route 425 in Clayton, Louisiana. The northern terminus is at Interstate 35 just south of Interstate 90 in Albert Lea, Minnesota. Parts of its modern route in Iowa and historic route in Minnesota follow the old Jefferson Highway. Missouri Route 14
Route 14 is a state highway traveling through the southern part of the U.S. state of Missouri. Its western terminus is at U.S. Route 60 (US 60) in Marionville, and its eastern terminus is at US 63 on the northern edge of West Plains. Route 14 is a two-lane highway for its entire length, however, there are plans to widen Route 14 in some spots. Formerly this road's western terminus was at US 71 in Joplin, and its eastern terminus was at US 67 southwest of Poplar Bluff. These sections are now US 160, Route 174, and Interstate 44 (I-44). Linden, Christian County, Missouri
Linden is an unincorporated community in northern Christian County, Missouri United States. It is located approximately 4.5 miles northwest of Sparta on Route 125, where the highway crosses the Finley Creek. The river has been dammed, creating a small lake, Lake Lindenlure, just east of Route 125. Linden is part of the Springfield, Missouri Metropolitan Statistical Area. The community's name is a transfer from Linden, Tennessee Linden is a town in and the county seat of Perry County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 1,015 at the 2000 census and 908 at the 2010 showing a loss of 107. Linden was officially incorporated in 1850. Missouri Route 125
Route 125 runs between U.S. Route 65 at Fair Grove and the Arkansas state line, where it continues as Highway 125. After the road crosses into Marion County, Arkansas, the highway crosses Bull Shoals Lake via a free ferry. It is a two-lane road its entire length. Near Chadwick, the highway enters the Mark Twain National Forest and passes through this most of the way to Arkansas. It also overlaps U.S. Route 160 for several miles at Rueter.
