"Find the Colour" is a song by Welsh rock band Feeder, released as the fourth single from their fourth studio album, ''Comfort in Sound'', on 22 September 2003. The single peaked at number 24 on the UK Singles Chart. Music video The music video sees the band performing in a dark room, with the camera panning around them while they are performing. The action is seen in slow motion, and are actually performing "Godzilla" from their ''Comfort in Sound'' album, with the video slown down with "Find the Colour" edited into the video so it looks like they are performing a different song. This could be seen as the band not being too keen on having the song as a single release. It was noted by frontman Grant Nicholas in an interview on now-defunct TV channel The Amp that as the video is seen in slow motion from start to end, it has done something not done by many or any music videos in the past. Feeder (band)
Feeder are a Welsh rock band formed in Newport in 1994. They have released 11 studio albums, 12 compilations, four EPs and 43 singles, spending a combined total of 184 weeks on the singles and albums charts as of 2019, while accumulating 25 top 75 singles between 1997 and 2012. At their peak of commercial success, Feeder won two Kerrang! Awards in 2001 and 2003; they were inducted into their Hall of Fame in August 2019 for “Distinguished Services to Rock”. Feeder are one of the Britpop era bands to have continued success long after their peak. The Amp
The AMP was a youth center and music venue in Minot, North Dakota, United States. Established in October 2003 by Billy Luetzen, the AMP provided a place for local youth to hang out, and on most weekends staged a concert. Generally concerts had a lot of punk rock, but indie and acoustic acts played there. The AMP also organized film and theatre events. The predecessor of AMP was the Liberty Social Tavern. History In September 2003, following the closure of the Liberty, a group of people met at the Minot Public Library to discuss the future of live performance in the city. Slow Motion
Slow motion (commonly abbreviated as slo-mo or slow-mo) is an effect in film-making whereby time appears to be slowed down. It was invented by the Austrian priest August Musger in the early 20th century. This can be accomplished through the use of high-speed cameras and then playing the footage produced by such cameras at a normal rate like 30 fps, or in post production through the use of software. Typically this style is achieved when each film frame is captured at a rate much faster than it will be played back. When replayed at normal speed, time appears to be moving more slowly. A term for creating slow motion film is overcranking which refers to hand cranking an early camera at a faster rate than normal (i.e. faster than 24 frames per second). ''Comfort in Sound'' is the fourth studio album by Welsh rock band Feeder, released on 21 October 2002 and also the first to be released by the band after the suicide of drummer Jon Lee earlier in the year. The album was recorded at RAK Studios in London during most of 2002, and was produced by Gil Norton. The band returned to live performance after Lee's suicide, playing low-key slots at various festivals in the United Kingdom, before releasing the single "Come Back Around" and then the album. Three further singles—" Just the Way I'm Feeling", "Forget About Tomorrow" and "Find the Colour"—followed the album's release. Comfort In Sound (song)
"Comfort in Sound" is the last single to be taken from Feeder's 2002 album of the same name. It was only available at first on the band's arena tour in December 2003, and was limited to 3,000 copies. A few weeks after the tour, the single was available for download from "Feederweb" with downloadable PDF artwork. The inclusion of the original "Piece by Piece" video was the first time it was ever released in the UK. It made the B-list of BBC Radio 1's playlist – the first time for a download-only single in which the CD was not commercially available or not available at all. Release After the release of "Find the Colour", which was the band's last commercial single from the album, the band released the title track as a limited edition single, only available during the 2003 ''Comfort in Sound'' tour.
