Filth (band)
Filth was an American hardcore punk band from East Bay, California. Formed in 1989, Filth was a crustcore band that helped define the "later East Bay hardcore" style. The band combined upbeat, sometimes poppy guitar with harsh screamed vocals. The rhythm section was composed of Mike-o the Psycho on bass, Dave (E.C.) Henwood on drums, and Jim Gray on guitar. Dave left the band after recording the ''Shit Split'' LP (1990) and Toby was brought in to replace him. They released a split album with Blatz, known as the Shit Split (1991), on Lookout Records originally on LP and Cassette- a 2xCD version was released in the mid-1990s. In 2000 the LP & 2xCD were moved to Life Is Abuse. In 2008 Life Is Abuse ended regular operations so the LP & 2xCD was moved to its current home, Alternative Tentacles. East Bay (San Francisco Bay Area)

Embers (band)
Embers is an American dark ambient heavy metal band, with male and female vocals and a black metal influence from Oakland, California, United States. History Embers was formed in 2004 by Kelly Nelson on bass and vocals, Steven DeCaprio on guitar, and Jerry Buchanan on drums. Kelly and Steve are the former members of the political hardcore/metal band, Lesser of Two, formed in 1990 and dissolved in 2002. Lesser of Two released three CDs, and two singles. Jerry Buchanan has played in a number of Bay Area bands over the last 15 years including Fields of Shit and Abandon featuring members from the seminal "East Bay hardcore" band Filth. He also plays drums in a tribute band called I Yearn for Maiden. Nine plays viola with over 15 years of experience and has performed with various artist including current Bay Area bands Rivers Run Black and Six Billion Dead. Springman Records
Springman Records is an independent record label founded in 1998 by Avi Ehrlich that was run out of his parents' garage in Cupertino, California, until late 2005, when Ehrlich moved the label to Sacramento. The label's official slogan is "Friendly Punks" though many other styles of music appear on the label, such as indie rock, rockabilly, ska, folk music, pop punk, and hardcore. In 2007, Springman stopped releasing albums, but launched Silver Sprocket, a bicycle club that also releases records with a more collective and community-oriented philosophy. Silver Sprocket members jokingly refer to themselves as a cult on their Myspace page. The group has been involved in political and community-related projects around Sacramento. As an imprint, Silver Sprocket has released albums, clothing, toys, and art-related projects. Very Small Records was an independent record label, formed in 1989 by David Hayes, co-founder and former co-owner of Lookout Records. The name of the label was changed to Too Many Records around 1994, but was changed back around 1997. The label terminated in 2003. Hardcore punk (also known as simply hardcore) is a punk rock music genre and subculture that originated in the late 1970s. It is generally faster, harder, and more aggressive than other forms of punk rock. Its roots can be traced to earlier punk scenes in San Francisco and Punk rock in California, Southern California which arose as a reaction against the still predominant History of the hippie movement, hippie cultural climate of the time. The Wynona Riders are an East Bay (San Francisco Bay Area), East Bay pop punk band formed in 1988 as Miss Conduct by Jim Tyler (drums), Eric Matson (guitar), Ron Murphy (bass) and Mike Lipari (vocals).
