Filipe Alarcão
Filipe Alarcão (born 1963 in Lisbon, Portugal) is a Portuguese product designer. His designs range from the renowned china, porcelain and casual dishes manufactured by Vista Alegre to the contemporary furniture design of Temahome. He obtained a degree in equipment design from the Lisbon school of fine arts and a master's degree in industrial design from the Domus Academy, Postgraduate School of Design in Milan, Italy. From 1995 to 1997, Filipe worked with Michele de Lucchi, in Milan, as a consultant for Olivetti Personal Computers, developing projects for personal computers. Currently he lives and works in Lisbon, with his own atelier where he develops industrial design projects in furniture, urban equipment and products, lighting, ceramics and glass in collaboration with several Portuguese and foreign companies among them Vista Alegre Atlantis, Asplund, Temahome TemaHome is a furniture exporter based in Lisbon, Portugal. Michele de Lucchi (born 8 November 1951) is an Italian architect and designer. Biography De Lucchi was born in 1951 in Ferrara and graduated in architecture from Florence. During the period of radical and experimental architecture he was a prominent figure in movements such as Cavart, Studio Alchimia and Memphis. De Lucchi has designed lamps and furniture for well-known Italian and European companies, such as Artemide, Olivetti, Alias, Unifor, Hermès and Alessi. For Olivetti he was Director of Design from 1988 to 2002 and developed experimental projects for Compaq Computers, Philips, Siemens and Vitra.
