Filip Filipović (water Polo)
Filip Filipović ( sr-Cyrl, Филип Филиповић; born 2 May 1987) is a Serbian water polo player widely considered to be one of the greatest players in the history of the sport. He was a member of the Serbia men's national water polo teams that won bronze medals at the 2008 and 2012 Olympics and gold medals in 2016 and 2020. He also held the world title in 2009 and 2015 and the European title in 2003, 2006, 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2018. He was named ''Most Valuable Player'' at the 2011 World Championships. He was also voted as the male water polo "World Player of the Year" in 2011, 2014 and 2021 by the FINA magazine. Pavel Filip (born 10 April 1966, Pănășești, Strășeni) is an engineer and politician from the Republic of Moldova. In 2001–2008 he was the director of the Joint-stock company "Bucuria" and in 2008–2011, general manager of Tutun-CTC joint stock company. Miroslav Filip
Miroslav Filip (27 October 1928 – 27 April 2009) was a Czech chess grandmaster. Filip was awarded the title of International Master in 1953, and the Grandmaster title in 1955. Filip represented Czechoslovakia in 12 consecutive Chess Olympiads from Helsinki 1952 to Nice 1974, playing 194 games with the overall result (+62–28=104). World Championship candidate Filip twice qualified for the Candidates Tournament, which is the tournament to choose a world championship challenger. In 1955 Filip placed seventh in the Gothenburg Interzonal, qualifying for the Candidates, which was held in Amsterdam the following year. He placed eighth out of ten players. Ota Filip (9 March 1930 – 2 March 2018) was a Czech novelist and journalist. He wrote in both German and Czech. Life Filip was born in Slezská Ostrava, in present-day Czech Republic. His novels have been translated into French, Italian, Spanish and Polish. During the communist era government of Czechoslovakia his works were banned or censored by the authorities, and after the occupation of Czechoslovakia by Warsaw Pact Armed Forces in 1968, he was sentenced for his dissident activities, and incarcerated from 1969–71. In 1974, he was forced to emigrate to what was then West Germany. Since 1975, he was a member of the Bavarian Academy of Arts and Sciences, Munich, Germany. Simion Filip is a mathematician from Moldova with dual citizenship of Romania and Moldova. He is an associate professor of mathematics at the University of Chicago who works in dynamical systems and algebraic geometry. Early life and education Filip was born in Chișinău, where he grew up and attended the Moldo-Turkish "Orizont" Lyceum, graduating in 2005. He is a dual citizen of Romania and Moldova. Filip Hološko (; born 17 January 1984) is a Slovak former professional footballer who played as a forward or winger. Filip Verlinden (born 26 December 1982) is a Belgian kickboxer who competes in the cruiserweight and heavyweight divisions. Verlinden was introduced to the sport at an early age and came to prominence in 2008 when he won the WKA European Super Cruiserweight Muay Thai Championship, followed by the WKA World Cruiserweight title the following year. Filip Višnjić ( sr-cyr, Филип Вишњић, ; 1767–1834) was a Serbian epic poet and ''guslar''. His repertoire included 13 original epic poems chronicling the First Serbian Uprising against the Ottoman Empire and four reinterpreted epics from different periods of history of Serbia. Born in a village near Ugljevik, Višnjić went blind at the age of eight or nine after contracting smallpox. He lost his family early in life, and began playing the ''gusle'' and reciting epic poetry around the age of 20. He spent years wandering the Balkans as a vagabond, and performed and begged for a living. His storytelling abilities attracted the attention of a number of influential figures, and around 1797, he married into an affluent family.
