Fiksdal or Fiksdalen is a village in Vestnes Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The village is located on the west side of the Tomrefjorden, about northwest of the village of Tomra. Fiksdal Church is located in this village. Fiksdal is also the hometown of Norwegian international footballer Kjetil Rekdal. Fiksdal Church
Fiksdal Church ( no, Fiksdal kyrkje) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Vestnes Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is located in the village of Fiksdal in the western part of the municipality. It is the church for the Fiksdal parish which is part of the Indre Romsdal prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Møre. The white, wooden church was built in a long church style in 1866 using plans drawn up by the architect Jacob Wilhelm Nordan. The church seats about 200 people. History Fiksdal Church was built by master carpenter Gjert Lien who used architectural drawings by Jacob Wilhelm Nordan. The same drawings were later used as a basis for the construction of Vågstranda Church (1870) and Otrøy Church (1878). The new building was consecrated in 1866. In 1965-1966, a sacristy was added to the east end of the building during a renovation and restoration of the building led by Ola Seter. Vestnes is a municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. Vestnes is part of the traditional district of Romsdal. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Vestnes. Other villages in the municipality include Vikebukt, Vik, Vågstranda, Øverås, Fiksdal, Tomrefjord, and Tresfjord. Kjetil André Rekdal (born 6 November 1968) is a Norwegian football manager and a former player. He is the manager of Eliteserien club Rosenborg. Rekdal began his playing career in Molde FK, playing afterwards for clubs in the Bundesliga, Ligue 1 and Belgian Pro League. Tomrefjorden
Tomrefjorden is a fjord in Vestnes Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The long fjord branches off of the main Romsdalsfjorden and it is one of the two big fjords that cut into the municipality. The fjord is located about west of the village of Vestnes. The Norwegian County Road 661 follows the shoreline around most of the fjord and it passes through the villages of Fiksdal (on the western shore), Tomra (on the southern shore), and Vik (on the eastern shore).
