''Fight the Silence'' is the fifth studio album by For Today. The album was released on February 4, 2014 through Razor & Tie. Critical reception ''Fight the Silence'' received generally positive reception from the ratings and reviews of music critics. Danielle Deschamps of '' Outburn'' rated the album an eight-out-of-ten, saying that "''Fight the Silence'' proves to be a heartfelt album saturated with sleepless guitars, honest lyrics, and a heavy sound guaranteed to stimulate the hearts and minds of listeners who battle the hard-hitting realities and bitter illusions that live within us all." In addition, Deschamps states that "Liberation and the means to release one's mind from looming fears and bitter agony thrive within ''Fight the Silence''". For Today (band)
For Today was an American Christian metalcore band from Sioux City, Iowa, formed in 2005. They released two EPs, ''Your Moment, Your Life, Your Time'' and ''Prevailer'', and six full-length albums: '' Ekklesia'' in, 2008, '' Portraits'' in 2009, '' Breaker'' in 2010, '' Immortal'' in 2012, ''Fight the Silence'' in 2014, and ''Wake'' in 2015. The band split up in 2016. History For Today was founded in 2005 by Ryan Leitru, Mike Reynolds, David Morrison, and Jon Lauters. Lauters and vocalist Matt Tyler, who joined the band shortly after its formation, (who later became known as Madison Skylights) left the band soon after, and were replaced by Mattie Montgomery (formerly of Besieged) and Brennan Schaeuble. Schaeuble was replaced by Ryan's brother Brandon. Mattie Montgomery
Mattie Montgomery is an American musician and the former lead vocalist and frontman of Christian metal band For Today from 2007. He released six albums and one EP with the band before they broke up in 2016. In addition to his work with For Today, Montgomery has his own solo gospel project named after himself in which he has released three albums and two books. He now pastors a church, The Altar Fellowship, in Johnson City, Tennessee. Music career Montgomery began his involvement in music at the age of fifteen, where he has stated he listened to bands such as Senses Fail and A Static Lullaby. Groups such as these opened the door to heavier bands that would inspire Montgomery to try heavy vocals and screams in his singing. Memphis May Fire is an American metalcore band formed in Denton, Texas and currently signed to Rise Records. The band currently consists of lead guitarist Kellen McGregor, lead vocalist Matty Mullins, bassist Cory Elder, and drummer Jake Garland. The Independent Albums chart (previously titled Top Independent Albums) ranks the highest-selling independent music albums and extended plays (EPs) in the United States, as compiled by Nielsen SoundScan and published weekly by '' Billboard'' magazine. Top Christian Albums is a weekly chart published in ''Billboard'' magazine that ranks the best-performing Christian albums in the United States. Like the ''Billboard'' 200, the data is compiled by Nielsen Soundscan based on each album's weekly physical and digital sales, as well as on-demand streaming and digital sales of its individual tracks.
