Fiesta (Raffaella Carrà Album)
''Fiesta'' is the eighth studio album by Italian singer Raffaella Carrà, released in 1977 by CGD. The album was named after the song of the same name, which was widely popular in Italy, Spain, Canada and Argentina. The recording was produced by Gianni Boncompagni. The Italian and Canadian versions of the album have songs in both English and Italian, while the Spanish version has lyrics adapted to the language. In 1977, Raffaella Carra was nominated for the Canadian Disco Awards for this album. As part of the ''Fiesta'' promotion, Carrà went on tour, visiting Argentina, Chile, Peru and Mexico in 1979. Raffaella Maria Roberta Pelloni (18 June 1943 – 5 July 2021), better known as Raffaella Carrà (), was an Italian singer, dancer, television presenter, actress and model. She was well known in Europe and Latin America as a result of her many television shows and records. Carrà is the interpreter of very popular songs such as ''A far l'amore comincia tu'' from her album ''Forte forte forte''. Early life Carrà was born on 18 June 1943 in Bologna to Raffaele Pelloni and Angela Iris Dell'Utri (of Sicilian ancestry) and had a brother named Enzo (dead in 2001) her parents, however, separated shortly after the wedding and Carrà spent most of her childhood between her mother's bar and the ice cream shop in Bellaria – Igea Marina. Franco Bracardi (16 May 1937 – 27 February 2005) was an Italian actor, composer, pianist and stand-up comedian. Born in Rome, during the first half of the fifties Bracardi began working as a jazz pianist in night clubs. In 1960 he became the pianist of The Flippers, a beat group which also included Lucio Dalla (sax, clarinet and vocals). Compagnia Generale del Disco (CGD) was an Italian record label. History CGD was founded in 1948 by singer Teddy Reno. At that time it was established in Milan in Via Passarella 4. As artistic director Reno called fellow musician Lelio Luttazzi, who replaced David Matalon as Head of International Production in 1956. By collaborating with some publishers such as Suvini-Zerboni and Messaggerie Musicali, CGD was able to hire many artists who roused much success as Giorgio Consolini, Betty Curtis and Johnny Dorelli.
