Festival D'Ambronay
The Ambronay Festival is a French opera festival and early music festival. The festival has been running in October for 30 years and previously produced recordings with labels such as the Auvidis label. 7 of 14 early recordings were with Jordi Savall. Since 2005 the Festival has been issuing recordings on its own label, Ambronay Éditions. More recently Leonardo García-Alarcón has been a regular performer and recording artist. The main venue is the Benedictine Abbey Notre-Dame d'Ambronay of the village of Ambronay. The abbey has an exceptional acoustic In the abbey performing spaces are: Tour Dauphine, Chapiteau, Abbatiale. Other venues include the Théâtre de Bourg-en-Bresse, Monastery of Brou, also at Bourg-en-Bresse, Théâtre des Augustins in Montluel, the Abbaye Saint-Martin d'Ainay, Lyon, and Belley Cathedral. Bruno Boterf
Bruno Boterf is a contemporary French tenor, specialising in Baroque and early music. Biography Boterf began his career within the and the Groupe Vocal de France before joining the Ensemble Clément Janequin of which he was a member until 2007. Holder of the Certificate of Aptitude for Ancient Music, Boterf has taught at the RRC of Tours, the Royal Conservatory of Liège and the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Lyon where he has been a singing teacher specialized in early music. He regularly teaches courses and master classes on singing and Renaissance music polyphony at conservatories and polyphonic centres. Philippe Jaroussky
Philippe Jaroussky (born 13 February 1978) is a French countertenor. He began his musical career with the violin, winning an award at the Versailles conservatory, and then took up the piano before turning to singing. Unusually for a countertenor, Jaroussky performs entirely in falsetto register. He has said that his natural singing voice is in the baritone range. Early career Jaroussky was born in Maisons-Laffitte. His great-grandfather was a Russian émigré who fled from the Bolshevik Revolution. Jaroussky was inspired to sing by the Martinique-born countertenor Fabrice di Falco. He received his diploma from the Early Music Faculty of the Conservatoire de Paris. Since 1996, he has studied singing with Nicole Fallien. Sébastien D'Hérin
Sébastien d'Hérin is a French harpsichordist and conductor. As a harpsichordist he studied under Gustav Leonhardt, Pierre Hantaï, Bob van Asperen, Kenneth Gilbert and Christophe Rousset. He founded his own ensemble, Les Nouveaux Caractères in 2006 with which he has led performances of operas including works of Purcell, Sisyphe amoureux d'Égine from Les Fêtes de Thétis by Colin de Blamont (second act Titon et l'Aurore by Bernard de Bury), and Philémon et Baucis by Haydn. Emmanuel Bardon

Jean-Christophe Spinosi (born 2 September 1964) is a French conductor and violinist, the founder of French orchestra Ensemble Matheus. Life and career In 1991 he created the Ensemble Matheus in Brest, an orchestra which accompanies him throughout the world. William Christie (musician)
William Lincoln Christie (born December 19, 1944) is an American-born French conductor and harpsichordist. He is a specialist in baroque and classical repertoire and is the founder of the ensemble Les Arts Florissants. Biography Christie studied art history at Harvard University, where he was briefly assistant conductor of the Harvard Glee Club. From 1966, he began studies at Yale University in music, where he was a student of harpsichordist Ralph Kirkpatrick. He was opposed to the Vietnam War, and served in a reserve officers course to avoid the draft. He subsequently taught at Dartmouth College. When his Dartmouth post was not renewed, Christie moved first to the United Kingdom (1970), and in 1971 to France.
