Ferro Carril Oeste Basquet
Club Ferro Carril Oeste Basquet, or Ferro Basquet, is a professional basketball team based in Caballito, Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is a part of the sports club Club Ferro Carril Oeste. The club currently plays in Liga Nacional de Básquet, the top division of the Argentine basketball system. Ferro was the competition's first winner in 1985, with a total of 3 league titles won to date. It was also the first team to win two consecutive titles (1985–86), and the first Argentine team to become South American champion (in 1981). Besides, Ferro Carril Oeste is one of the three Argentine clubs to have played a final of the FIBA Intercontinental Cup (1986). The Liga Nacional de Básquet (abbreviated LNB, and literally in English, "National Basketball League"), also commonly referred to as "La Liga de Básquet" ("The Basketball League"), is the top-tier level of the Argentine basketball league system. The league is under the auspices of the Basketball Clubs' Association (in Spanish: ''Asociación de Clubes de Básquetbol''). The LNB's predecessor league is the now defunct Campeonato Argentino de Clubes, which was organized by the Argentine Basketball Federation. Martín Darío Leiva (born 23 April 1980) is an Argentine professional basketball player who plays for Boca Juniors of the Liga Nacional de Básquet and BCL Americas. He is 2.10 m (6 ft 11 in) tall, and he plays at the center position. Professional career Leiva debuted in the LNB (Argentine 1st Division) on 12 October 1997, playing for Ferro Carril Oeste, against Independiente de General Pico. He played four seasons with Ferro, and then 6 with Boca Juniors in the top division. With Boca, he won the 2003–04 and 2006–07 seasons of the LNB. Luis Alberto Scola Balvoa (born April 30, 1980) is an Argentine former professional basketball player and current executive who currently serves as the chief executive officer for the Italian Lega Basket Serie A (LBA) team Pallacanestro Varese. A three-time All-EuroLeague selection with Tau Ceramica, he signed with the Houston Rockets in 2007, and was voted to the NBA All-Rookie First Team.
